Andy Burnham new favourite to be next PM
Andy Burnham 3/1 from 9/2 after applying to stand for Labour in Gorton and Denton by-election
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “It appears that Andy Burnham has made his intentions clear about a return to Westminster by applying to stand as the Labour candidate in the Gorton and Denton by-election.
“Whether he will be blocked from running remains to be seen, but Keir Starmer could well have a fight on his hands if the popular Manchester Mayor is elected, and on the back of the news we now make Burnham the 3/1 favourite, from 9/2 yesterday, to be the next Prime Minister.
“Reform leader Nigel Farage has also shortened on the back of the news and is now 4/1 second favourite, with Labour Health Secretary, Wes Streeting, following in the market at 9/2.”
