Betting Suspended on Michael Carrick Leaving Manchester United
It’s another low point for Manchester United, following successive heavy defeats in the space of four days, losing 3-0 at home to Bournemouth.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Michael Carrick was 8/13 to be the first Premier League manager to leave his club before kick-off today, now he’s heavy odds on to leave his job. We’re so short we’ve suspended betting until we hear more news from Old Trafford”.
Former Newcastle manager Eddie Howe is William Hill’s favourite to replace Carrick at 8/11 odds-on, followed by Julian Nagelsmann at 7/2. Brighton’s Fabian Hürzeler is 8/1 alongside Antonio Conte. Unai Emery, Kieran McKenna, and Gareth Southgate are further out at 16/1 to take on one of the most scrutinised jobs in football management.
