Newcastle United have attracted 27% of all wagers in William Hill’ News’ 2026/27 Premier League relegation market, almost twice as many bets as any other club, while their relegation odds remain at 10/1.

William Hill report that the Magpies have endured a difficult 2026 on and off the pitch, prompting punters to pile into them to go down to the Championship despite their price not shortening. Newcastle’s 27% share of stakes is almost double that of the next most‑backed side for the drop.

Manchester City sit second in the staking table, accounting for 15.5% of bets in the relegation book since it opened. Newly promoted Hull City follow with 7.8%, ahead of Leeds United at 6.7% and Tottenham Hotspur at 6.3%, rounding out the five clubs attracting the most relegation interest.

Premier League 2026/27 Relegation bets (% of stakes)

  • Newcastle – 27%

  • Manchester City – 15.5%

  • Hull City – 7.8%

  • Leeds – 6.7%

  • Tottenham – 6.3%

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Our punters have piled into Newcastle to be relegated from the Premier League next season after enduring a miserable 2026 on and off the pitch. In fact, the Magpies account for almost a third (27%) of all bets in our relegation market – almost double that of Manchester City in second – as we approach the new season and news of Eddie Howe’s departure will only add to the uncertainty at St James’ Park.”
