Super League Eliminators Prediction & Betting Tips 2025
The 2025 Super League Play-off Eliminators are finally upon us after a thrilling 27-game league season.
Six teams remain in contention for the Grand Final at Old Trafford and four of those will fight it out for their place in the semi-finals. Hull KR and Wigan Warriors finished as the top two, so they go straight through to the semis.
Below we take a closer look at each of this blockbuster year’s Week One Play-off games.
Leigh Leopards vs Wakefield Trinity, Friday 26th September
The first of the Eliminators pits two sides against each other, who in the past few seasons would never have imagined they’d be in this position. You only have to go back to 2022 to find Leigh in the Championship, while Wakefield were plying their trade in the second tier as recently as last season.
Fast forward to this season and these teams met three times, twice in Super League and once in the Challenge Cup. Trinity ran out convincing 14-40 winners towards the start of the year, but Leigh have taken the spoils the last twice, with both victories coming on Wakefield soil.
Leigh were the perfect example that promoted teams can cause a stir in Super League and they’re favourites to keep their dream rolling at 2/7 heading into this clash. Daryl Powell knows what it takes to make it to Old Trafford, but his side are 13/5 to go from the Championship to the final four in the space of a year.
Leigh finished their season with five wins on the bounce, with their momentum a large reason behind their favouritism here. On the other hand, Wakey have won their last two, losing out to local rivals Castleford Tigers three weeks ago in a defeat that will have hurt a few egos and dented their local pride.
Leeds Rhinos vs St Helens, Saturday 27th September
Saturday’s Eliminator is a more familiar end-of-season clash as 11-time champions Leeds Rhinos welcome St Helens, who are seeking their 18th title, to Headingley. These two sides know exactly what it takes to make it to Old Trafford, so this one should be a blockbuster game.
The Rhinos’ 2025 campaign got off to a shaky start with an opening day defeat at the hands of Wakefield one of four losses in their opening seven games. However, a mid-season charge saw them have a third-place finish in their grasp with two games to play. It wasn’t to be for Brad Arthur’s side though, as they lost their final two league games against Catalans and Wigan to finish fourth.
St Helens’ season of resurgence after last year’s disappointing campaign hasn’t gone quite to plan, with the 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 champions finishing fifth, 10 points adrift of Hull KR at the top of the table. They finished off their league campaign with two losses, followed by a narrow win over Castleford on the final day, in which their young guns were put to the test and nearly defeated by a Tigers side with nothing but pride to play for.
Head-to-head form this season has the Yorkshire outfit 2-1 down, but they’re 4/9 favourites to level the score here. Saints were 6-0 winners in the teams’ last meeting and they’re 9/5 to get the better of their opponents again here and land themselves a place in the final four.
