Super League Grand Final 2026 Predictions: Warrington 6/5 for fine-margin victory
The biggest game of the Super League season takes place this weekend and William Hill News predicts how it will unfold.
The Grand Final is the pinnacle of British rugby league and Old Trafford is set to play host to another cracker this year, between two sides who not many would have picked to be facing of in Manchester at the start of the campaign.
Warrington Wolves will face Wakefield Trinity, with Warrington still seeking their first victory despite this being their fifth Grand Final appearance, while this is Wakefield’s debut in the big one.
After a few play-off shocks from both sides, this looks a tough one to call. Here, we predict how it will all unfold on Saturday evening.
Prediction
This is an incredibly tough game to call, with both sides matched at 10/11 in the betting and the draw priced at 16/1.
With the match handicap set at merely two points either way, that could be the way to go when picking either side to win. In the two regular season meetings between these teams the record is one apiece, with the margins in both games being at least one try. In addition to that, the Grand Final has only been decided by a margin of two points or less on four occasions since 1998.
Daryl Powell and his captain Mike McMeeken will be hoping to right the wrongs of their 2017 loss with Castleford Tigers, while Warrington coach Sam Burgess will hope to add a first Grand Final victory to his CV to join the NRL title he earned as a player.
The semi-finals looked a step too far for Wakefield and they made it through that with a minimum of fuss, but Old Trafford is a whole different prospect. This is going to be a tight game, but we’re taking Warrington to edge it and finally get their hands on the trophy.

As is always the case, there will be a number of star players who could easily make the difference at Old Trafford. Let’s take a look at those who may turn the tide on Saturday evening.
Warrington Wolves
Sam Burgess’ squad is absolutely packed with quality, as well as Grand Final experience. Seven of his players have walked out at Old Trafford before for a combined 18 appearances, and five of his men have lifted the trophy before.
It’s hard to pick a standout for Warrington this season with George Williams and Matty Ashton both missing periods of the season through injury, as has breakout star Cai Taylor-Wray. It has been a real team effort, with a blend of flair from youth players and experienced players such as Ben Currie and Toby King leading them.
Williams and Ashton are back in action here and they can be match winners on any occasion.
Wakefield Trinity
Jake Trueman has been at the centre of Daryl Powell’s masterclass in charge of Wakefield this season, with the former Castleford Tigers man, brought through by Powell, scoring four tries and providing an impressive 27 assists this season.
Tyson Smoothy has been the rock in the middle of the Wakefield defence, ranking third in Super League for tackles made this season, clocking 981 successful tackles. Prop Braden Hamlin-Uele has also been key, carrying for over 3,000 metres so far this season.
If those three are on top form, they give Wakefield a great base to put up a real challenge for their first ever Super League title.
