Can Anyone Stop The Wigan Warriors This Super League Season?
The Wigan Warriors head the betting for Super League glory this season, with Matt Peet’s side topping the odds for both the Grand Final and League Leaders Shield at William Hill.
One of the most successful teams in Super League history, Wigan have won the League Leaders Shield in three of the last six years and it’s no surprise to see the Warriors priced as favourites to finish top of the regular season table.
Wigan have competed in the Super League Grand Final in each of the previous three years but they slumped to a disappointing 24-6 defeat at the hands of Hull KR – and the Robins are next in the betting at 21/10.
Super League Grand Final Winner Odds:
- Wigan Warriors – 15/8
- Hull KR – 21/10
- Leeds Rhinos – 11/2
- St Helens – 6/1
- Leigh Leopards – 11/1
- Hull FC – 14/1
- Warrington Wolves – 16/1
- Bar – 35/1
Leeds Rhinos and St Helens were the dominant force in rugby league’s top division in the not-so-distant past and both will be supported in the betting ahead of the new season, which gets underway on Thursday 12th February 2026.
Defending champions Hull KR take on Super League newbies York Knights in the season curtain raiser and the Robins are expected to open with a convincing success – Wigan fans will be keeping a close eye on the action.
The Warriors need to wait until Sunday for their opening fixture of the new Super League campaign, with Wigan making the short journey to Castleford for a clash with the Tigers. William Hill have Wigan as clear favourites to open with a victory.
League Leaders Shield Winner Odds:
- Wigan Warriors – 15/8
- Hull KR – 15/8
- Leeds Rhinos – 11/2
- St Helens – 6/1
- Leigh Leopards – 10/1
- Hull FC – 14/1
- Warrington Wolves – 16/1
- Bar – 40/1
The 2026 Super League season could be one for the ages and it’s sure to be as competitive as ever. While some teams have slipped down the ladder in recent times, Wigan remain incredibly consistent and the Warriors are the safe pick to win the Grand Final at this stage.
