Women’s Rugby World Cup Semi Final Predictions & Betting Tips (2025)
Who will advance to the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup final? We take a look at this weekend’s semi-final double header.
Just four teams remain in this year’s competition: Canada, New Zealand, France and… England. The Red Roses have been red hot favourites to lift the trophy since the start of the tournament but a tough semi-final against the French awaits.
Firstly though, rugby union betting fans will be treated to a humdinger of a semi-final between Canada and New Zealand on Friday night.
Without further ado, here are my best bets and predictions ahead of the Women’s Rugby World Cup semi-finals…
Canada vs New Zealand
Who will come out on top between Canada Women and New Zealand Women on Friday evening? Let’s preview the action.
Punters can bet on Canada v New Zealand at William Hill and here is the current state of the market:
- New Zealand Women – 3/4
- Draw – 22/1
- Canada Women – 11/10
Viewers should be in for a right treat under the Ashton Gate floodlights on Friday night, as two of the best teams on the planet clash for a place in the Women’s Rugby World Cup final.
New Zealand are the reigning champions, having beaten 2025 tournament favourites England in the 2022 Rugby World Cup final on home turf.
The Black Ferns are the most successful team in the history of the Women’s Rugby World Cup, lifting the trophy on six occasions – and they are narrow favourites to advance to yet another showpiece.
However, Canada are ranked as the second best team on the planet and many believe that the Canadians will advance to the Rugby World Cup final for the first time in over a decade.
Canada have improved as the tournament has gone on and their recent record against New Zealand is fair enough. The two teams couldn’t be split in the Pacific Four Series earlier this year, with the teams sharing the spoils after an exhilarating 27-27 draw.
Much of the focus ahead of the semi-final has been about a mouth-watering England v New Zealand final but I’m siding with Canada to edge it.
Canada Women vs New Zealand Women prediction: Canada to win (11/10)
France vs England
Who will come out on top between France Women and England Women on Saturday afternoon? Let’s preview the action.
Punters can bet on France v England at William Hill and here is the current state of the market:
- France Women – 8/1
- Draw – 28/1
- England Women – 1/25
England may be clear favourites but if recent history is anything to go by then it isn’t going to be plain sailing. Just five months ago, the Red Roses edged past France by one point to secure the Women’s Six Nations Grand Slam.
The pressure is all on England but can they cope with the weight of expectation? The Red Roses are on a record 31-match winning streak that dates back to the 2022 Women’s Rugby World Cup final.
In fact, you have to go all the way back to 2018 to find the last time England Women lost a match to a team other than the reigning world champions. The team on that occasion? France.
France are no slouches and, while the odds suggest that England will prevail, they cannot be dismissed entirely. The crowd will be fully behind the hosts but Les Bleus will be determined to defy sports betting markets.
While I don’t think England Women will steamroll France Women on Saturday afternoon, I do believe that they will prove too strong. They aren’t a betting proposition at the prices so instead, I’d prefer to consider the French at +22.5 on the handicap.
France Women v England Women prediction: France (+22.5) on the handicap (5/6)
When Is The 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup Final?
The final will take place at Twickenham Stadium on Saturday 27th September 2025, with the kick-off scheduled for 4pm.
Meanwhile, the Bronze final will take place at 12.30pm on the same day – giving fans the opportunity to watch a double header at the home of English rugby.
