2026 Masters Snooker Predictions
The Masters returns to Alexandra Palace from 11–18 January 2026, bringing together snooker’s elite 16-man field for one of the season’s most prestigious invitation events. With Judd Trump heading the outright market but several legends and rising stars in close pursuit, this year’s competition is set up for some perfect entertainment.
Judd Trump – 4/1
Judd Trump leads the betting at 4/1 and arrives as world No.1 after another season stacked with deep runs and finals. A two-time Masters champion and still one of the game’s most devastating scorers, Trump opens against Ding Junhui – a tough draw, but one that he will expect to navigate if he finds his rhythm early. His long potting and heavy break-building remain the most reliable weapons in the tournament, which explains why the market continues to side with him despite occasional dips in consistency.
Mark Selby – 9/2
Just behind Trump sits Mark Selby at 9/2, the four-time world champion who has rediscovered something close to his peak. Fresh from capturing the UK Championship and with a favourable opener against Xiao Guodong, Selby looks primed for another deep run at Ally Pally, a venue where his tactical nous and mental resilience have so often shone. Over a best-of-11 format, his ability to squeeze frames, slow opponents down and clear under pressure makes him a serious threat to the favourite’s grip on the market.
Zhao Xintong – 5/1
Zhao Xintong is also prominent at 5/1, reflecting both his explosive talent and the sense that he is ready to reassert himself after a turbulent period. The former UK champion’s ultra-attacking style can overwhelm opponents when he settles quickly, and a first-round clash with Gary Wilson gives him a platform to play his way into the event. If Zhao can tighten up his safety game while maintaining his natural scoring instincts, he has the upside to outplay his odds and emerge as a genuine title contender.
Ronnie O’Sullivan – 9/1 BOOSTED
Ronnie O’Sullivan, still the sport’s biggest draw, trades at a boosted 9/1 as he chases a record-extending ninth Masters crown. A blockbuster opening tie against Neil Robertson is both a danger and an opportunity; come through that, and O’Sullivan’s price will fall sharply, with the crowd likely to fuel one of his trademark surges. Questions linger over his schedule and motivation at 50, but his cue ball control and matchplay instincts remain unmatched when he is fully engaged.
The Rest
Behind the headline quartet sits a tightly bunched group of dangerous outsiders: Neil Robertson and Kyren Wilson are 8/1 and 10/1 respectively, defending champion Shaun Murphy at 11/1, plus experienced campaigners Mark Williams, John Higgins, Mark Allen and Barry Hawkins at doublefigure prices. Murphy opens his title defence against Wu Yize, while Wilson faces Si Jiahui in a clash of heavy scorers, and either could easily catch fire over the week if the draw opens up.
With a highquality field, a renowned Ally Pally atmosphere and short, bestof11 matches up to the final, volatility is always part of the Masters story. Trump rightly starts favourite, but Selby’s bigmatch pedigree, Zhao’s ceiling and O’Sullivan’s enduring genius ensure this year’s tournament feels wide open – and ripe for drama from the very first break-off.
