Amy Hunt storms into favouritism to win SPOTY
Amy Hunt is the new overwhelming favourite with William Hill to win this year’s BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
The 24-year-old sprinter entered the market at 25/1 to win the award, but after claiming four gold medals at the 2026 European Athletics Championships, she’s seen her odds tumble to 4/7.
Fellow Team GB athlete Josh Kerr remains in the SPOTY running at 9/2, followed by Luke Littler, Harry Kane, and Matt Weston.
2026 BBC Sports Personality Of The Year
- Amy Hunt – 4/7
- Josh Kerr – 9/2
- Luke Littler – 8/1
- Harry Kane – 9/1
- Matt Weston – 9/1
- BAR – 16/1
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Amy Hunt’s four gold medals at the European Athletics Championships has sent our BBC Sports Personality of the Year betting market into meltdown, as she’s come sprinting into 4/7 from 25/1 in the space of a week – the most significant move we’ve seen in the market to date.
“Josh Kerr (9/2), Luke Littler (8/1), Harry Kane (9/1), and Matt Weston (9/1) remain in the conversation, but it would take a huge turnaround from the chasing pack to stop Hunt lifting the award in December after those outstanding performances at the European Championships over the weekend.”
