Hamnet To Pip One Battle After Another To Best Film At BAFTAs 2026 Ceremony

The 2026 British Academy Film Awards betting markets have been open since nominations were released in early January and punters will be following this Sunday’s ceremony closely.

One of the standout awards in the industry, winning a BAFTA is the dream for any aspiring young actor and it celebrates the best of British film – and the stage is set for this year’s big event.

Those who have placed a bet on the BAFTAs, whether that be in the Best Film category or one of the many categories, can follow the action live on BBC One and iPlayer on Sunday evening.

David Tennant has hosted the awards ceremony in each of the past two years but Alan Cumming, host of the US edition of The Traitors, will present this year’s event at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall.

Here, we take a look at the Best Film Odds ahead of Sunday’s ceremony and One Battle After Another currently heads the market ahead of Hamnet but there’s little to split them in the betting.

BAFTAs Best Film Odds 2026:

  • One Battle After Another – 4/6
  • Hamnet – 11/10
  • Sinners – 14/1
  • Marty Supreme – 20/1
  • Sentimental Value – 20/1

The longlist for the 2026 BAFTAs was released on 9 January, and the nominations for the EE Rising Star award on 14 January, followed by the full nominations list on 27 January.

Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another leads the tally with 14 BAFTA nominations this year, followed by Ryan Coogler’s Sinners with 13, and Hamnet and Marty Supreme in joint third place with 11.

Who Will Win Best Film At The 2026 BAFTAs?

It looks a two-horse race in the Best Film category and I’d be inclined to side with Hamnet. The British Academy often side with homegrown talent and that may just about edge the vote but it could go either way.
