Nothing to separate two Cambridge college developments in Stirling Award betting

Pembroke College’s Mill Lane development has shortened into 2/1 joint-favourite from 5/2.

2026 RIBA Stirling Award

  • River Wing, Clare College – 2/1
  • Pembroke, Mill Lane, Cambridge – 2/1
  • Paddington Square – 3/1
  • A house at Fairmead, high beach, Epping Forest – 4/1
  • BEAM, Hertfordshire – 5/1
  • Lion Green Road – 6/1

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Clare College, Cambridge’s River Wing development has been favourite for the 2026 RIBA Stirling Award since the betting opened, but it has now been joined at the head of the market by Pembroke College, Cambridge’s Mill Lane project.

“Mill Lane was 3/1 when the market opened in July, but has gradually shortened, and has now joined Clare’s River Wing at the head of the betting at 2/1, in what looks a two-horse race between the two Cambridge college developments.

“Elsewhere, the market has been fairly stationary, with Paddington Square next at 3/1, a house at Fairmead at 4/1 and BEAM (5/1), a rejuvenated community hub, and Lion Green Road (6/1), a suburban housing development of 157 dwellings, both outsiders in the market.”
