Strictly Come Dancing 2020: Rumoured celebrity line-up

| BY News Team

Whisper it quietly, but it looks as if Strictly Come Dancing will be returning to our TV screens soon!

Everyone’s favourite dancing show is reportedly due to return before 2020 is out, with rehearsals said to be starting in September.

Naturally, the Strictly rumour mill as to who will be participating in Strictly Come Dancing 2020 is in full swing, so we’ve decided to take a look at the odds for those celebrities being talked about to take part.

Jamie Laing

Leading the betting as the most fancied celebrity to be taking part as one of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing contestants at 1/4 is Jamie Laing of Made in Chelsea. It’s of perhaps little surprise to see the 31-year-old sitting at the top of the market given he was due to take part in last year’s series, only to have to pull out on the eve of the first episode when a dance move went wrong and left him injured. Laing was eventually replaced by former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher, who went on to win the series, but he’ll be hoping for better luck this time around.

Lorraine Kelly

Another celebrity who looks highly likely to be competing for the Glitterball Trophy this year is TV presenter Lorraine Kelly. Kelly is currently taking a break from presenting duties of her self-titled TV show, leading to plenty of speculation that she has signed up for Strictly. Her co-presenters have been adding further fuel to the fire by hinting that she will be taking part, and Kelly is 6/4 to be involved in the new series.

Linda Lusardi

Coming in at 3/1 to participate in Strictly this year is actress, TV presenter and former model Linda Lusardi. Lusardi is no stranger to taking part in reality TV shows, having finished sixth on Dancing on Ice, reaching the final five in Celebrity MasterChef and winning Celebrity Come Dine With Me. With a reality CV like that, she may well be keen to add Strictly Come Dancing success to the list.

Jacqueline Jossa

Former EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa captured the nation’s hearts at the end of last year when she was crowned Queen of the Jungle by winning I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! No doubt her friendly and down to earth persona would help see her shine in Strictly too and Jossa is 5/1 to sign up for the show.

Danny Walters

A little further down the list of potential Strictly Come Dancing contestants sits actor Danny Walters, who is best known for his roles as Tiger Dyke in Benidorm and Keanu Taylor in EastEnders. The 27-year-old quit EastEnders last year with his final scenes airing in February so he could be free to join the Strictly cast. Walters is 7/1 to do so.

Roman Kemp

We could be set for another 2019 I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star on Strictly this year alongside Jacqueline Jossa, with Roman Kemp also having been rumoured to be making an appearance. Capital FM radio DJ Kemp finished third on I’m a Celebrity behind Jossa, but could have an opportunity to beat her this time around if they both sign up. Kemp is 12/1 to be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing 2020.

The Vivienne

Talking of I’m a Celebrity, British drag queen The Vivienne has been rumoured to be appearing on the next series, while she has also been speculated to be appearing on the upcoming Strictly series too. The Vivienne won the first series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK last year and is 14/1 to be competing for the Glitterball Trophy this year.

Peter Kay

A little further down the list of Strictly rumours, and perhaps seen as more of an outsider to be one of the Strictly Come Dancing contestants is comedian Peter Kay, who is priced at 16/1. Kay has appeared on Strictly before on a Blackpool special in 2017 as a guest, so he could well be a fan of the show and keen to make his full bow this year.
