| BY News Team

The Strictly Come Dancing live shows were back with a bang last week.

The new crop of celebrity contestants took to the dancefloor to strut their stuff and with no elimination, they are all now preparing for the second round of live shows on Saturday.

We take a look at the latest odds for the series…

Maisie Smith – 7/4

Still sitting at the top of the market following the first live show is EastEnders star Maisie Smith at 7/4. Maisie opened her campaign last week with an impressive samba performance to Gloria Estefan’s ‘Samba’ alongside partner Gorka Márquez, with only HRVY fairing better in the points department. Up next for the early favourite is the tango to ‘Midnight Sky’ by Miley Cyrus. Maisie won the Children in Need version of Strictly last year, and after her first display, she will be confident of further success this series.

HRVY – 2/1

Still sitting second in the betting behind Maisie is singer and YouTuber HRVY, who is now 2/1 to claim the Glitterball Trophy this year, with his odds shortening from 3/1 last week following his impressive display on Saturday. As mentioned, HRVY jived to the top of the scoreboard with 25 points last time out with his jive to ‘Faith’ by Stevie Wonder featuring Ariana Grande, alongside partner Janette Manrara. HRVY will be keen to follow up last week with another table-topping performance when he dances the Viennese waltz to the sound of ‘Stuck With U’ by Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber.

Clara Amfo – 7/1

Up one place from last week to third favourite is BBC Radio1 DJ Clara Amfo at 7/1, who has made a steady rise in the betting with her odds for victory starting off at 12/1. Clara was also steady, if not spectacular last week, with her Cha Cha to ‘Don’t Start Now’ alongside Aljaz Skorjanec earning her a midtable points score of 18. She’ll be looking to build on that score on Saturday when she dances the Viennese waltz to ‘You Don’t Own Me’ by SAYGRACE.

Caroline Quentin – 8/1

Men Behaving Badly star Caroline Quentin sits next in the betting, having shot up from 14/1 for victory to 8/1 following last week’s American smooth to ‘9-5 (Morning Train)’ by Sheena Easton. Caroline has a background in ballet, which certainly helped her on Saturday as she secured a joint-third best score of 21. Up next for her and her partner Johannes Radebe is the paso doble to ‘El Gato Montes’ by Ramon Cortez.

Nicola Adams/Max George – 14/1

Jointly rounding off the top five in the betting for the Glitterball Trophy is double Olympic gold medallist boxer Nicola Adams and The Wanted singer Max George, who are both currently priced at 14/1 for glory. Like Caroline, Nicola also secured a joint-third best score of 21 last week, while Max was lower down the scoreboard with 17. Up next, it’s a street commercial routine to ‘Shine’ by Years & Years for Nicola, with Max performing the jive to The Monkees song ‘I’m A Believer’.

Best of the rest

Elsewhere, comedian Bill Bailey sits at 20/1, former NFL star Jason Bell is 33/1, Made in Chelsea’s Jamie Laing follows behind at 40/1, with Good Morning Britain presenter Ranvir Singh at 50/1, Royal marine turned sports presenter JJ Chalmers at 66/1 and former MP Jacqui Smith priced at 200/1.
