2/1 that UK sizzles in 36C+ heat today; 5/1 UK temperature record is broken in 2026

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “The mercury looks set to soar past 34C again today and we make it 2/1 for a temperature of 36C or more to be recorded. With that in mind, this could be the hottest weather we see all year and now make it just 6/4 for May 26th to be the warmest day of 2026.

“If May’s balmy conditions are a trend for things to come later in the summer, then the all-time UK temperature record (40.3C) could be under threat – we’re 5/1 that it is broken in 2026.”
