May 26th could be UK’s hottest day of 2026
William Hill are 2/1 that temperatures in the UK hit at least 36C today, with May 26th now just 6/4 to go down as the warmest day of 2026.
It is also 5/1 that the all‑time UK temperature record is broken at some point this year.
William Hill spokesperson, Lee Phelps, said: “The mercury looks set to soar past 34C again today and we make it 2/1 for a temperature of 36C or more to be recorded. With that in mind, this could be the hottest weather we see all year and we now make it just 6/4 for May 26th to be the warmest day of 2026.
“If May’s balmy conditions are a trend for things to come later in the summer, then the all-time UK temperature record (40.3C) could be under threat – we’re 5/1 that it is broken in 2026.”
