UK All-Time Temperature Odds: Odds-On For New Record Heat In 2026
The UK is odds-on to record its hottest temperature ever in 2026, with leading bookmaker William Hill pricing a new all-time heat record as the nation braces for another year of extreme weather.
Britain’s current record of 40.3°C, set in Lincolnshire during the summer of 2022, remains the benchmark, but Hills go 5/6 for that mark to be eclipsed next year.
With recent summers repeatedly threatening the record books, the odds suggest a fresh high could be closer than many might expect.
UK Weather Odds 2026:
Punters can bet on the UK temperature record being broken next year at William Hill and here is the current state of the market:
- UK All-Time Temperature Record To Be Broken In 2026 (40.3C) – 5/6
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Not so long ago, the idea of Britain topping 40 degrees felt almost unthinkable – but now it’s something we’re pricing up year after year.
“At 5/6, our odds suggest 2026 could be the year the UK’s heat record falls again, which says a lot about how expectations have shifted.”
With global temperatures rising year-on-year, figures in the United Kingdom are likely to rise again and the 30.4 degrees record could be under threat.
Punters can find the latest odds and news relating to the UK weather record at William Hill. We are almost certainly going to experience a heatwave at Wimbledon just like last year, with many other sporting events likely to be impacted as well.
