Here we keep you up to date on all the key sporting events to keep an eye on throughout the month. Let’s dive in!

Wimbledon, 30th June – 13th July

Strictly speaking, Wimbledon began last month, but the bulk of the action takes place in July and you will not want to miss any of it. Before the turn of the month, British hopefuls Cam Norrie, Billy Harris, Arthur Ferry, Oliver Tarvet, Emma Raducanu, Katie Boulter and Sonay Kartal all secured their places in the second round.

The whole of Britain will be behind their fellow countrymen and women across two weeks of non-stop, high-class tennis action. It will all culminate on the weekend of the 12th and 13th of July, with the Ladies’ Singles Final on Saturday, followed by the Gentlemen’s Singles Final closing the show on Sunday.

Carlos Alcaraz remains the outright favourite amongst the men at 5/4, with the Spaniard seeking a hat-trick of wins at the Championships. Aryna Sabalenka leads the charge for the women at 5/2, looking to make it to the final for the first time in her career.

Women’s European Championship, 2nd – 27th July

The Women’s European Championship takes place throughout the month, kicking off on Wednesday 2nd July and finishing on the 27th, with the final being played at St. Jakob-Park in Basel.

Sarina Wiegman’s side are 10/3 in the outright market, with Spain the clear favourites at 13/8 as they look to exact revenge on the Lionesses for knocking them out at the quarter-final stage back in 2022.

England will face France, Wales and the Netherlands in Group D and will hope to progress through to the knockouts with a minimum of fuss. Without experienced internationals such as Mary Earps, Millie Bright and Fran Kirby, England will be hoping their crop of talented young players can take them all the way once again.

Tour de France, 5th – 27th July

The world’s most prestigious road cycling event comes to the fore in July, with the Tour de France getting underway on Saturday 5th July. The race begins with a flat stage in Lille and will weave through France over a three-week period, passing through Caen, Normandy, Toulouse, Montpellier, and finishing at the iconic Champs-Élysées in Paris.

Slovenian rider Tadej Pogačar is the odds-on favourite at 4/11 having won the race last year, as well as in 2020 and 2021. He faces stiff competition in the shape of Jonas Vingegaard, with the Dane having reigned victorious in 2022 and 2023; he is 21/10 to snatch the crown back.

England v India Test series (Matches 2, 3 and 4), 2nd – 27th July

England’s five-Test series against India has the bulk of its action in July, with the middle three matches all taking place this month. The first gets underway on Wednesday 2nd July at Edgbaston, followed by the Lord’s Test which begins on Thursday 10th July, and then a trip north to Old Trafford on Wednesday 23rd July.

England won the first Test in emphatic style, knocking off 371 runs in their final innings to win by five wickets with 14 overs to spare on day five. Off the back of that win, England are 4/6 to win the second Test and go 2-0 up in the series.
