Indian Wells Open Semi Finals: Alcaraz And Sinner Destined To Meet In Final?

| BY Sam Cox

Friday sees the semi-finals take place of the Indian Wells Open. Familiar faces have reached the last four in both draws, with Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, Jannik Sinner, and Carlos Alcaraz on course for final appearances.

Here are our tennis betting tips:

Alexander Zverev vs Jannik Sinner

Neither of these players faced much resistance in the last eight. Learner Tien and Arthur Fils were blown away by Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev, respectively, setting up an 11th contest between the Italian and German.

Sinner has won the last five. He’s dropped just eight games across his last two matches against Zverev, covering emphatic wins at the Paris Masters and the ATP Finals.

Zverev hasn’t been able to life with the superhuman version of Sinner we’ve seen in recent years. There’s no reason for that to change here.

Pick: Jannik Sinner -4.5 games (20/21)

Carlos Alcaraz vs Daniil Medvedev

The only set Carlos Alcaraz has lost in this tournament was a tie break to Arthur Rinderknech. He made light work of Cam Norrie after seeing off Casper Ruud in straight sets.

It’s been a routine path to the semis for Daniil Medvedev, with a string of straight sets victories. His record against Alcaraz is poor, however, with four straight defeats and only one set won over that period.

Alcaraz has only needed six games to win eight of his last 10 sets against Medvedev. This looks like a similar procession.

Pick: Carlos Alcaraz under 12.5 games (10/11)

Aryan Sabalenka vs Linda Noskova

Without taking away from Linda Nosková’s achievement, the draw has fallen in her favour. She’s only faced one seeded player – 31st seed Alexandra Eala – in her run to the semis.

Aryna Sabalenka demolished Victoria Mboko in the last eight. The hard-hitting Belarussian has lost just 21 games across her four matches at the Indian Wells Open.

It’s the first meeting between these players since 2023, so there’s not much to go on from a head-to-head perspective. Despite registering five wins against top 10 players in 2025, it’s hard to see how Nosková keeps this close.

Pick: Aryna Sabalenka under 12.5 games (4/5)

Elena Rybakina vs Elina Svitolina

Just in case anyone was pencilling in a final between Elena Rybakina and Sabalenka, Elina Svitolina reminded us how seriously she has to be taken by beating Iga Świątek in the quarters.

Since a scare in the first round, Rybakina has made it look easy. The way she saw off Jessica Pegula was ominous for Svitolina, but Svitolina has won three of the six previous meetings.

The last three matches have been decided in straight sets, yet it’s worth noting Svitolina won when they last faced off. Rybakina should come out on top, though it won’t be as straightforward as her win over Pegula.

Pick: Elena Rybakina to win 2-1 (29/10)
