Cincinnati Open Predictions: Best Bets for Wednesday 19th August 2026

| BY Sam Cox

The round of 16 in the men’s and woman’s draw is the focus of our Cincinnati Open tennis betting picks.

Cincinnati Open Predictions Wednesday:

  • Rafael Jódar to win 2-0 (Evens)
  • Arthur Fils -2.5 games (17/20)
  • Elena Rybakina -3.5 games (10/11)
  • Sorana Cîrstea +4.5 games (4/6)

Rafael Jódar vs. Flavio Cobolli

Spanish phenom Rafael Jódar cruised past Alejandro Tabilo, dropping only three games to book his place in the round of 16. Jódar is up to 11th in the world after reaching the semis in Montreal and losing the final to Taylor Fritz in Washington.

Flavio Cobolli has gone the distance in his first two matches in Cincinnati. The Italian went winless in Montreal and Umag after losing to Arthur Fery in the Wimbledon quarter final.

An appearance in an epic French Open final seems a long time ago for Cobolli. This seems like it’ll be one-way traffic in Jódar’s favour.

Arthur Fils vs. Alex De Minaur

This is the fourth meeting between Arthur Fils and Alex De Minaur. Their most recent duel was a straight sets win for De Minaur in Rotterdam earlier this year.

Fils impressed in a three-set win over Jiří Lehečka. De Minaur made light work of Arthur Fery after a brief scare at the hands of Quentin Halys.

The rankings don’t paint an accurate picture of where these players stand. Fils has been the superior player over the last six months, and that should translate into a win here.

Diana Shnaider vs. Elena Rybakina

Elena Rybakina dispatched Diana Shnaider in straight sets when they met on Stuttgart’s clay earlier this year. Both players are yet to drop a set in this tournament.

Shnaider had a marquee win over Jessica Pegula en route to a last eight appearance at the Canadian Open. Rybakina was back to her best on the hard courts after a difficult period on the grass and clay.

We know Shnaider can beat the world’s best, as she’s shown with wins over Pegula and Aryna Sabalenka, but it’s hard to look past Rybakina in this form.

Sorana Cîrstea vs. Jessica Pegula

This is the first time these players have met since 2021. Pegula has won her first two matches at this event without too much stress, while Sorana Cîrstea hammered Anna Kalinskaya after the latter took a tight opening set.

It’s been a good year for Cîrstea, including strong showings in Rome and Paris. Pegula was a Wimbledon quarterfinalist and reached the final in Washington, before losing to Shnaider at the Canadian Open.

It’s obvious that Pegula deserves to be favoured. Cîrstea is capable of toppling top 10 players, though, and she should make the American work for this.
