French Open Betting Tips & Predictions (2025)

The French Open begins on May 25 and runs for two weeks with the singles’ finals scheduled to be played across the weekend of June 7 and 8.
Current tennis betting markets price Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Świątek as the favourites in their respective draws.
As the second Grand Slam of the year, the fortnight at Roland Garros is always a massive in-play betting occasion.
Looking at the 2025 French Open schedule, tennis fans around the world will be glued to their screens throughout the two weeks, whether focusing on the singles’ draws or the doubles contests.
Defending champions Alcaraz and Świątek have the shortest odds as of May 14. Jannik Sinner, returning from a PED suspension, is only just behind Alcaraz, while world number one Aryna Sabalenka trails Świątek.
French Open Men’s Winner Odds
- Carlos Alcaraz – 6/5
- Jannik Sinner – 5/2
- Novak Djokovic – 7/1
- Alexander Zverev – 15/2
- Jack Draper – 11/1
- Casper Ruud – 12/1
- Stefanos Tsitsipas – 16/1
- Holger Rune – 20/1
Men’s Draw Preview
Alcaraz was champion in Monte-Carlo and reached the final in Barcelona. His clay-court form is good, as expected, but these odds seem a little generous for a player who has only reached one previous French Open final (when he won the event in 2024).
It’s hard to know what to make of Sinner’s candidacy. The Italian Open is his first action since his suspension following the Australian Open
While he’s clearly well-rested, does he need to play through some rust which makes him an upset candidate in the early rounds? He won his first three Italian Open matches in straight sets, yet we haven’t seen him take on a fellow contender to win the French Open.
Name rather than performance is keeping Novak Djokovic at 7/1. First-round exits in Monte-Carlo and at the Madrid Open suggest Djokovic’s days of contending for clay-court titles are a long way behind him.
Stefanos Tsitispas was an intriguing option in this market ahead of the clay-court season, but the Greek has fallen from relevance with a string of disappointing results in Monte-Carlo, Barcelona, and Madrid.
If you want to talk yourself into a longer shot, Casper Ruud at 12/1 is worth consideration. He beat Jack Draper in the final in Madrid and has reached two of the last three finals at Roland Garros.

Women’s Draw Preview
Świątek’s phenomenal record at Roland Garros earns her French Open betting favourite status ahead of Sabalenka. The Pole has struggled for form since the second half of last year, however, and she’s coming off a loss to Danielle Collins at the Italian Open.
Coco Gauff got the better of Świątek in emphatic fashion in Madrid, too, after yet another loss to Jelena Ostapenko in Stuttgart.
Even with four French Open titles to her name, Świątek is not a good bet at her current price.
Sabalenka has been by far the best female tennis player on the planet in 2025. Titles in Miami, Stuttgart, and Madrid are further proof Sabalenka is the player to beat in Paris later this month (and into June).
Clay hasn’t always been a natural surface for the Belarussian’s power game, but her performances of late make her a good option at 9/4 to lift the trophy.
Having reached the quarter-finals or better at the last four editions of the French Open, Gauff is a name to keep an eye on at 7/1.
Her price could shorten considerably before the tournament gets underway. The American has been playing high level tennis of late, including wins over Świątek, Belinda Bencic, and Mirra Andreeva in Madrid.
Priced at 33/1, we would also recommend backing Jasmine Paolini. The Italian beat Gauff in Stuttgart and has reached the semi-finals of the Italian Open.
