What Is The Format For Laver Cup?
Here is a basic guide to the format of the 2025 Laver Cup, and it is worth familiarising yourself with the schedule when looking at tennis betting markets for the event:
- Matches are best-of-three sets. In the event of a tie-break, the third set is played as a first-to-10-points tie break.
- A total of 12 matches will be played over the weekend, with four on each day. There will be a total of nine single matches and three doubles matches.
- Friday matches are worth one point. Saturday’s matches are worth two points while three points go to the winner of each match on Sunday – this format ensures the overall outcome remains alive heading into the final day.
- Each player must play single matches across the first two days, meaning no player can play a singles match more than twice. Once on Friday or Saturday and then potentially again on Sunday.
- A player can play all three doubles matches but at least four of each team’s six players must play in this format at least once. No doubles combination can play more than once.
- The winning team is the first to reach 13 points.
- In the event of a tie, a decisive overtime doubles match is played as a regular set with ad scoring and a tie-break.
