Alexander Zverev vs Alejandro Davidovich Fokina Prediction

It’s no surprise that Alexander Zverev is heavily favoured over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. Zverev has a dominant 6-1 record against the Spaniard, including a 6-2, 6-4 win in Paris last year.

After making hard work of matches against Quentin Halys and Alexander Bublik, Zverev only needed two sets to see off Alex de Minaur. Fokina beat Frances Tiafoe in the third round and was fortunate to see Novak Djokovic and Lorenzo Musetti eliminated before the fourth round.

The win over Tiafoe was Fokina’s first against a top 10 player since last year’s Washington Open. He’s only made one Masters semi-final since 2023. There’s little to suggest he can live with Zverev here.

Rafael Jódar vs Daniil Medvedev Prediction

Rafael Jódar has added to a stunning breakout campaign with his second Masters semi-final appearance. The Spaniard is looking to reach his first ATP 1000 final after a three-set win over Casper Ruud on Friday.

Unphased by the bright lights, Jódar has developed experience in the latter stages of big events like this. He is only 1-5 against top 10 players, though, and has never faced Medvedev/Paul.

The Spaniard’s form wasn’t the best heading into this event, with first round exits at the US Open and in Tokyo. He’s had to dig deep to win each of his four matches in Shanghai in three sets.

Medvedev has been there and done it. His experience gives him an edge over Jódar, and he’s been playing some great tennis over the last week. Still, Jódar has been trending towards a Masters final all year and we fancy the Spaniard to get over the hump.
