US Open Predictions Today: Four Value Bets For Women’s Semi-Finals On Thursday

Aryna Sabalenka vs Jessica Pegula Prediction

Jessica Pegula came from a set down. Aryna Sabalenka had to dig deep after struggling at times in the second set to win a final set breaker over Linda Nosková. Both of these players battled through arduous quarter-finals to set up a blockbuster semi-final on Thursday.

A two-time defending champion, Sabalenka has a 9-4 record against Pegula, but it’s notable that the American won when they met on the grass of Berlin earlier this year. The last four meetings have gone the distance, and Pegula has been victorious in two of the last three.

Pegula hasn’t made a Grand Slam final since 2024. Sabalenka has the superior Slam pedigree, including making four of the last seven finals, but her levels have been lower in recent months. She’s not been past the quarters of a WTA 1000 event since Miami.

Both players have cruised through to the latter stages. Recent history suggests this will go the distance.

Elena Rybakina vs Coco Gauff Prediction

A dramatic win over Zheng Qinwen saw Elena Rybakina become the highest-ranked player in the world for the first time. Coco Gauff’s come-from-behind win over Mirra Andreeva also made history, as it made this the first US Open since 1975 to see the top four seeds compete in the semi-finals.

It’s curiously only the third meeting between the players. Rybakina beat Gauff in Toronto, winning the final two sets while dropping only four games, just a matter of weeks ago.

In Impressive form in the build-up to this tournament, Gauff showed great poise to come back against Andreeva. She was heavily beaten in the first set and had to save a match point in the second set tiebreaker.

Despite injury concerns coming into the US Open, Rybakina has been imperious. The way she dealt with Naomi Osaka was alarming for the rest of the draw, and Zheng didn’t have an answer once she got rolling in the second set.

We fancy this to go deep. Rybakina is rightly favoured, but this should be another three-set contest between these two stars.
