AEW WrestleDream 2026 Predictions and Betting Tips: Moxley set to defend Continental Championship title
AEW WrestleDream heads to Addition Financial Arena in Orlando on Saturday 17 October, with championship matches dominating the card, according to William Hill.
Jon Moxley, Mercedes Moné and The Young Bucks are strong favourites in their respective contests, while the two-out-of-three-falls trios title match offers one of the evening’s most intriguing betting opportunities.
Jon Moxley v Mark Davis
Jon Moxley defends the AEW Continental Championship against Mark Davis, with the champion priced at 1/5 and his challenger available at 10/3. Davis arrives with a significant confidence boost after pinning Moxley in a trios match on the final television stop before WrestleDream. That result gives this title challenge added intrigue, even if the market still strongly favours the champion.
The prediction is that Moxley responds when the stakes are highest. Davis has already shown he can score a victory over him, but repeating that in a championship singles match is a different challenge. Expect the challenger to have convincing moments before Moxley finds a way through.
Prediction: Jon Moxley to win at 1/5.
Andrade El Idolo v Tommaso Ciampa
Andrade El Idolo puts the AEW National Championship on the line against Tommaso Ciampa. The champion is 1/3 to win, with Ciampa a 9/4 outsider in a match that adds another singles title defence to the Orlando card.
This looks a more competitive proposition than some of the shorter-priced matches. The case for Andrade is that he can avoid letting the contest become a prolonged battle of attrition and instead dictate the pace of the exchanges. Ciampa’s route to an upset would be to frustrate the champion and make every opening count.
Andrade is the selection, although the price leaves room for a competitive match rather than a straightforward defence.
Prediction: Andrade El Idolo to win at 1/3.
Mercedes Moné v Thekla
Mercedes Moné is the 1/5 favourite in the AEW Women’s World Championship match, with Thekla priced at 10/3. The market makes Moné a clear selection, but those odds should not be mistaken for a guarantee of an uncomplicated evening.
Thekla’s upset chance depends on turning the match into an uncomfortable contest and preventing Moné from establishing control. Our preference is for Moné to weather those difficult spells and produce the decisive finish.
At the prices, this is a favourite to side with rather than a match in which to chase the bigger number purely for its potential return.
Prediction: Mercedes Moné to win at 1/5.
The Brawling Birds v Wrathlander
The Brawling Birds — Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor — defend the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship against Wrathlander, the pairing of Kris Statlander and Harley Cameron. The champions are 2/7 favourites, while the challengers are available at 5/2.
The key to the prediction is teamwork. Our expectation is that The Brawling Birds will keep the contest focused on effective tags and coordinated attacks, rather than allowing their opponents to turn it into a series of individual exchanges.
Wrathlander have an opportunity to create an upset if they can isolate one champion for a sustained spell. However, the preference is for Hayter and Windsor to overcome that threat and retain.
Prediction: The Brawling Birds to win at 2/7.
The Young Bucks v Kevin Knight & Kyle Fletcher
The Young Bucks defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher. At 1/7, the Bucks are the shortest-priced favourites among the six markets featured, with Knight and Fletcher 4/1 to win.
The prediction is that the champions’ established partnership proves decisive. Knight and Fletcher could make this a demanding defence, but our expectation is that the Bucks find the better answer in the closing stages.
The main reservation is the price rather than the selection. At 1/7, the potential return is limited, so there is little reason to force a bet simply because they are the strongest favourites on the list.
Prediction: The Young Bucks to win at 1/7.
Swerve Strickland & The New Level v “Hangman” Adam Page & Brodido
Swerve Strickland and The New Level — Austin Creed and Kofi — defend the AEW World Trios Championship against “Hangman” Adam Page and Brodido, comprising Brody King and Bandido. The two-out-of-three-falls stipulation adds an extra tactical dimension, with the champions 4/11 and their challengers 2/1.
This is the most appealing contest for an extended championship battle. A team can recover from conceding the opening fall, making adjustments and maintaining cooperation particularly important.
Our prediction is that the match reaches a deciding fall, with Strickland and The New Level ultimately retaining. Page and Brodido are a credible alternative at 2/1, but the champions remain the preferred selection.
Prediction: Swerve Strickland & The New Level to win at 4/11.
