Callum Turner dethrones Jacob Elordi as next Bond favourite
Turner 5/4 from 6/4 amid rumours of imminent announcement; Elordi 3/1 from 5/4
Callum Turner has overtaken Jacob Elordi in the race to become the next James Bond actor, according to bookmaker William Hill
With rumours emerging that the incoming 007 film will start shooting before the end of the year, Turner has seen his odds cut from 6/4 to 5/4 in what could be a decisive moment in the battle to replace Daniel Craig.
Elordi experienced a lot of support in the betting last week following the release of Wuthering Heights, but the Australian’s price of 5/4 has been eased to 3/1 in recent days.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson occupies third in the market at 5/1, while Theo James’ price has lengthened from 15/2 to 10/1.
Callum Turner – 5/4
Jacob Elordi – 3/1
Aaron Taylor-Johnson – 5/1
Theo James – 10/1
Harris Dickinson – 12/1
BAR – 14/1
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “The long-standing contest to become the next James Bond actor has taken another dramatic twist, with Callum Turner reclaiming favouritism from Jacob Elordi.
“Elordi’s stint at the top of the betting barely lasted a week and the Australian is now 3/1 to replace Daniel Craig, with Turner our latest frontrunner at 5/4.
“With a potential announcement seemingly imminent, some of the less-likely candidates have seen their prices eased, with Theo James now 10/1 from 15/2 last week.
“Aaron Taylor-Johnson is deemed to be the only other realistic name in the running at 5/1.”
