Love Island: Casa Amor review and new couples update

| BY News Team

The outright winner market in this year’s edition of Love Island has changed significantly after last week’s conclusion of Casa Amor.

Below we discuss the implications of this series’ stint in Casa Amor, as well as taking a look at the new couples as the show enters its sixth week.

Casa Amor Review

Unlike many of the other series, there seems to have been a distinct lack of ‘set’ couples from the beginning that you can almost rely on to be in the final. The power of an original couple has always been a defining element in Love Island – couples who have been together from the beginning or at least since the first week.

Tyrique and Ella were probably the closest we had, but after Ella came back from Casa Amor with new boy Ouzy, that relationship has looked increasingly on the rocks. They remain the second favourites at 11/4 to go all the way and pocket the £50k, but you feel a lot needs to happen over the next couple of episodes for them to fully justify their tag as one of the favourite couples.

Looking elsewhere, the show would like us to believe that Montel and Leah’s relationship is fraught with tension, as Tink’s actions implied that Montel had professed his love for her. However, the drama fell flat. Montel remained indifferent, Leah was only slightly bothered, and Tink appeared dramatic. The pair are a long shot at 20/1 to win this year’s show.

One of the more significant implications of Casa Amor was the shock return of Molly, who decided to couple up again with Zachariah. The pair made amends and picked up where they left off, and Zachariah chose to leave Kady single when the mass recoupling occurred. Having previously been favourites to win the whole series, the pair are now 8/1 to win the most votes in this year’s final.

Meanwhile, Catherine’s return with Elom left the Villa in gasps, not least Scott, who is now single again. The pair wasted no time and sealed their connection with the first official Casa Amor kiss and are currently 16/1 to go all the way this year. Elom even prepared a fruity breakfast for Catherine, making her Casa Amor experience quite literally even sweeter.

Perhaps the most surprising development since the beginning of Casa Amor is the emergence of a new favourite in the outright winner market, with Lochan and Whitney now the 7/4 frontrunners to win the most votes from the public. The duo talked about vacations and family values, and their entrance as a new couple received big smiles from the other Islanders.
