With the TV schedule for Christmas Day revealed, leading bookmaker William Hill make The King’s Speech an overwhelming favourite to be the most viewed show on the big day.

The long-standing tradition sees King Charles’ speech broadcast to our screens at 3pm every Christmas Day, and with the speech often attracting a big audience, it is 4/7 to be the most viewed show on Christmas Day.

Call The Midwife is next in the betting at 7/4, with the first of a two-part Christmas special set to go out on the 25th, the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special is next at 4/1, while EastEnders is priced at 8/1.

Most Watched UK TV Show on Christmas Day 2025:

Punters can bet on the most watched television show in the United Kingdom on Christmas Day at William Hill and here is the current state of the market:

  • The King’s Speech – 4/7
  • Call The Midwife – 7/4
  • Strictly Come Dancing – 4/1
  • EastEnders – 8/1
  • Michael McIntyre’s Christmas Wheel – 14/1
  • Bar – 25/1

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Competition for TV audience on Christmas Day is always fierce and this year looks no different, with a host of Christmas specials scheduled, but it’s a traditional feature that heads our market.

“King Charles’ Christmas message to the nation is at the top of the betting, priced at 4/7, and with the King’s Speech always well viewed, the speech is well fancied to be the most-tuned-into programme on the 25th of December.

“Call The Midwife returns to the screens, with the first part of a Christmas special scheduled for the big day, and cannot be written off to draw in the most viewers at 7/4.

Strictly Come Dancing’s Christmas Special is a fan’s favourite and isn’t without a chance at 4/1, whilst EastEnders (8/1) and game show Michael McIntyre’s Christmas Wheel (14/1) are bigger prices in the betting.”
