Strictly Final: Ellie Leach public’s choice for Glitterball Trophy

| BY News Team

Ahead of this Saturday’s Grand Finale of Strictly Come Dancing, data from William Hill Vegas has revealed Ellie Leach to be by far the most popular selection to win the Glitterball Trophy.

The Coronation Street star has attracted a whopping 71% of the bookmaker’s total stakes received in the outright winner market since the conclusion of last weekend’s semi-finals, making her the clear choice with the public to win series 21 of the beloved BBC show ahead of Layton Williams (17%) and Bobby Brazier (10%):

Ellie has been the market frontrunner to win the series for the past few weeks and her odds of 1/12 to lift the Glitterball Trophy on Saturday make her the overwhelming favourite in the betting.

Meanwhile, Layton and Bobby will need to overturn a significant margin in the market if either are to stage a last gasp upset, with the duo trading at 7/1 and 16/1 respectively for glory.

William Hill spokesperson, Lee Phelps, said: “This Saturday’s Strictly Final could still yet throw some last-minute surprises, but there seems to be no stopping Ellie Leach ahead of the series climax – a sentiment certainly evident amongst our customers.

“The Coronation Street star has been responsible for almost three quarters of the money we’ve received in the outright winner market since the climax of last weekend’s semi-finals, with the public almost unanimous in their support for her chances of winning this weekend’s final.

“Such notable backing has had a subsequent effect in the prices of the final three contestants, with Ellie the runaway 1/12 favourite ahead of Layton Williams (7/1) and Bobby Brazier (16/1).”
