The World Cup is a time where football fans and patriots come together to celebrate their country’s accomplishments.
The players on the pitch are some of the most influential individuals on the planet, and their social media follow counts strongly reflect this.
But which teams and players can boast the top social following?
We’ve taken it upon ourselves to look into the numbers behind the social accounts of all of the players in each team. From this we have calculated the sheer influence which these individuals hold, as well as looking to establish the most influential nations and ‘The Social Dream Team’.
