SA Series: Bowlers expected to dominate!
With rain forecast for the first day of the 1st Test of the South Africa Series, William Hill have cut the price of the draw from 11/8 to 6/5, while England are 7/4 and South Africa 11/4.
Much has been made of the fact that this Series sees the world's two best bowling attacks face each other and Dale Steyn is the 8/1 favourite to be man of the match - a market that sees James Anderson as a 10/1 chance. Anderson is 9/4 to be England's top bowler, while Steyn is 9/4 to be South Africa's top man with the ball. Anderson and Steyn are 7/2 joint favourites to be the Series top bowlers.
"The bowling attacks will be vital as both sides claim to have the best in the world and much will depend on the form of Anderson and Steyn as the top two bowlers in the world at the moment," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly. "At the moment, Anderson has been well backed and our punters think England may just edge it."
England will undoubtedly want to assert themselves as the number one Test side in the world and see off the challenge of the Proteas who also want the top spot but England are Even money favourites to win the Series and 12/1 to whitewash the Series.
