Get Potty for Stoke in the Europa League
Unlike Tottenham, the Stoke manager Tony Pulis believes that the club's participation in Europe's second cup is a blessing. It is a massive game for them and for many of the fans, who will have never have seen the Potters take part in Europe.
They face Dynamo Kiev on Thursday evening and they need to take a point from their last two games to secure a safe passage into the next round. If they beat the Ukrainian side, they will win the group.
Stoke are in indifferent form in the Premier League but they look like cup contenders in the Europa League. They are 13/10 to win at home, the draw is 11/5 and the Dynamo Kiev victory is 11/5.
It will not be an easy game against Kiev, they are currently top of their domestic league and they are unbeaten in eighteen league matches.
They have the league's top goalscorer in Andriy Yarmolenko, who has scored eleven goals from eighteen domestic league matches. He is 9/1 to score first and 10/3 to bang in a goal anytime.
He will play alongside the AC Milan great Shevchenko. He may be in the twilight of his career but he was class in Italy. He could not quite cut it in the Premier League at Chelsea and that was due to the physical nature of the league. He is 8/1 to grab the first goal and 11/4 to score anytime.
If you fancy Kiev, I would back them at 23/20 draw no bet, Stoke have not lost at home yet in the Europa League this season.
Pulis has an almost fully fit squad at his disposal and he will play a strong team, for the Match Winner, we are enhancing them to win by two or more goals from 3/1 to 7/2.
They put three goals past Blackburn in the league at the weekend and Kenwyne Jones looks likely to start in attack. He has been a bit part player this season, he is 11/2 to score first and 6/4 anytime. He has lost his place this season to the summer signing Peter Crouch, but he will have a chance to impress Pulis.
If you think Stoke will beat the Ukrainian side at a canter, they are 18/5 -1 goal. Stoke will play in front of a sell-out crowd and they will be most definitely fired up. They are now only 16/1, to win the competition outright and they look better value than the 9/1 on offer for Tottenham. Spurs' ambitions are on the home front!
There will be big teams in Europe that will join the competition from the Champions League group stage, possibly even Chelsea and Man City, but they will not have the desire to win the competition.
Survival in the Premier League looks likely for Stoke and they have a lot of quality in the squad. It was only a few seasons ago that Fulham made the final.
Stay clear of the ninety minutes match betting, take the 11/10 on offer for over 2.5 goals and the 16/1 for them to win the competition outright.
