Bring on the girls, Turner takes another Group One
With Hayley Turner riding a second Group One winner with Margot Did in the Nunthorpe Stakes at York on Friday, William Hill have installed British Horse Racing's number one girl at 9-2 to ride an English Classic winner before the end of the 2015 Flat season.
Victory in the July Cup earlier this year was not only her first success at the highest level, but she became the first lady jockey in history to claim Group One honours outright.
This premier accolade will surely make Turner the most successful British female jockey of all time, and William Hill have priced her at 5-1 to record three or more British Group One wins during the 2012 Flat season.
Connections are reported to have the Prix de L'Abbaye at Longchamp in October in their sights for Margot Did, for which William Hill quote Michael Bell's charge at 8-1 to land the premier French sprint.
Lucy Rhodes, spokeswoman for William Hill, said 'Hayley Turner made history to ride one Group One victory, and to score another in such a short period has consolidated her position at the top. Can she take it to the next level and record Classic success?'
