Cheltenham Festival Trials Day Tips For Every Race

Cheltenham Festival Trials Day tips

Be sure to catch all of the action at Cheltenham Racecourse on Saturday 25th January on what will be a thrilling day of jump racing. With seven races, seven trials, this day will be the ultimate preparation for The Festival in March. Don’t miss the excitement!

Cheltenham – 12.40pm

The youngsters line up here for this Triumph Hurdle test and strong in the betting is the James Owen-trained East India Dock (NAP).

The gelding is a 7/1 shot to win the Triumph in March, behind the impressive Lulamba, but those odds will soon go should he oblige today. Teriferma can give the selection the most to do.

Cheltenham – 1.15pm

Jagwar (NAP) may have blotted his copybook at Uttoxeter last time out but it materialises that there was no disgrace in finishing third to Jingko Blue and Hashtag Boum, who have both subsequently gone on to win again.

Resplendent Grey and Guard Your Dreams look the best of the rest.

Cheltenham – 1.50pm

Imperial Saint (NAP) beat Richmond Lake by over six lengths at Aintree on a foggy Boxing Day and can follow up for the in-form stable of Philip Hobbs and Johnson White.

The seven-year-old has won three of his four starts this season and is on an upward curve. Top-weighted Ginny’s Destiny can chase him home.

Cheltenham – 2.25pm

Venetia Williams has been churning out the big Saturday winners this season and her King George third L’Homme Presse (NAP) can justify favouritism in the Cotswold Chase.

Last season’s Gold Cup fourth should be too good for this field. Forecast players may want to side with course and distance scorer Chantry House.

Cheltenham – 3.00pm

Constitution Hill (NAP) is by far the biggest name set to run on Saturday afternoon and bookmakers were quick to install him at odds on to win this race after his entry was received.

International Hurdle betting compilers have placed Constitution Hill as the heavy 1/5 favourite with those Cheltenham odds putting him clear of the rest of the field.

December saw Constitution Hill win his third consecutive Christmas Hurdle at Kempton and his odds to win the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham this year were instantly trimmed. The Gordon Elliott-trained Fils D’oudairies can chase him home.

Cheltenham – 3.35pm

Trainer Olly Murphy believes his stable star Strong Leader (NAP) can bounce back from a below-par run in the Long Walk Hurdle after recent wind surgery.

Strong Leader finished third behind Noble Yeats in the Cleeve Hurdle and the plan is to run well here before coming back for the Stayers’ Hurdle in March. Lossiemouth (no, not that one) can outrun his large odds in our horse racing betting and holds a decent each-way shout.

Cheltenham – 4.10pm

The closing Grade  2 Classic Novices’ Hurdle looks a wide open affair but edging it by a whisker is the Olly Murphy-trained Wade Out (NAP).

The six-year-old, whose owners include former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, is progressing through the ranks and thoroughly deserves a shot at this 2m4f graded affair. Five time scorer Potters Charm will have to play second fiddle today to the new kid on the block.
