India vs England: Third ODI Betting Preview

India are clear favourites in the latest cricket odds for the third ODI in their series against England. This white-ball tour has been a nightmare-ish start to Brendon McCullum’s tenure as head coach. England have lost six of the first seven games and have been thoroughly outplayed over the first two ODIs.
The batting has crossed the line from aggressive to reckless. Wickets have too often been thrown away by set batters. The bowling has been an even greater concern with all of England’s bowlers going the distance. Playing four quicks – and batting Jamie Overton at seven – on spin-friendly pitches has been an ill-thought-out strategy.
From a live betting perspective, England have rarely been in a comfortable position. A blistering powerplay from Ben Duckett and Phil Salt was thrown away when both openers failed to build on a rapid start. All of the top six were dismissed between 26 and 69 on Sunday.
In contrast, Rohit Sharma scored an electric hundred, leading the hosts to another stress-free win. Shubman Gill played the match-winning knock in the opening match as India won with 11.2 overs to spare.
The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is the venue for the final match of this white-ball tour. India have won four of their five matches at the stadium. Their lone defeat was against Australia in the 2023 World Cup final.
The last five ODIs at the Narendra Modi Stadium were during the World Cup. India secured a crucial win over Pakistan, and England were beaten by Australia.
The average first-innings score was 248.6 over those five matches, with spinners being effective in controlling the run rate and as wicket takers. Adam Zampa, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Adil Rashid, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mitchell Santner had big bowling performances.
Adil Rashid to be England’s Top Bowler – 11/5
Rashid took two wickets for 38 runs in 10 overs in his last game at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The veteran leg spinner is the only England bowler with more than two wickets this series and has taken at least one wicket in every match of this tour.
India got after Rashid on Sunday, and they are as well-equipped as any team in the world to cope with his variations. England are heavily dependent on their only frontline spinner, though, and he has a knack for taking wickets in the middle overs.
With a surface that should help him control the scoring, Rashid is a great bet at this price.
Ravindra Jadeja to be India’s Top Bowler – 18/5
Ravindra Jadeja has six wickets in this series after 3-26 and 3-35 performances. The all-rounder has dismissed Joe Root twice and his 3.21 economy rate is by far the best in the series (no one else is below 5.38).
Jadeja has tormented English batters for a long time. He varies his pace and majestically controls his line and length. England are unable to get Jadeja away, leading to rash shots and errors.
Averaging 22.51 with the ball against England in ODIs, look for Jadeja to add to his phenomenal record in this fixture, even if England get off to another flyer in the powerplay.
Ben Duckett to score a fifty – 9/4
After two failures to start the T20 series, Ben Duckett has averaged over 37 across the last five matches, with two fifties in the process.
Duckett was at his eye-catching best on Sunday, getting to 65 off 56 balls before an ill-judged slog off the aforementioned Jadeja.
Under McCullum, Duckett isn’t going to slow down after a disappointing dismissal. Look for him to go even harder in the powerplay and keep his foot down if he’s still in when the spinners come on.
