Ladbrokes Trophy Betting Tips And Runners (2025)

Kempton Park Ladbrokes Trophy Contender Hyland at Cheltenham

The Ladbrokes Trophy Handicap Chase was first run back in 1988 and was staged as the Racing Post Chase until 2011 and then the Racing Plus Chase in 2012 & 2013. It has had a number of sports betting sponsors since then.

This Grade Three handicap is run over a distance of 3m at Kempton Park racecourse and the contest, like the Eider Chase, is often described as another Grand National trial.

Lowry’s Bar (Philip Hobbs & Johnson White)

Ran into an in-form Jingko Blue in the Grade 2 Hampton Novices’ Chase and this should be a much easier task for the seven-year-old top-weight.

Hyland (Nicky Henderson)

The useful staying hurdler has taken well to chasing, beating all bar The Jukebox Man in the Kauto Star at Kempton over Christmas. Next stop the Ultima?

Our Power (Sam Thomas)

Took this race in 2023 and is a consistent performer at this level. Jockey Dylan Johnson comes here buoyed from riding a double in the week.

Tahmuras (Paul Nicholls)

Interesting syndicate horse for the Noel Fehily outfit, that has enjoyed a fair degree of success already. A Rowland Meyrick repeat from Boxing Day would see him go very close in this.

Corrigeen Rock (Lucinda Russell)

The eight-year-old has run the majority of his best races in Scotland but has been victorious at Kempton before, lifting a Class 3 Chase here in October 2023.

Heltenham (Dan Skelton)

Beaten a long way at Aintree on Boxing Day and is unproven at this trip.

Beachcomber (Jonjo & AJ O’Neill)

Put in a decent performance when sixth in a three-mile Listed handicap hurdle at Punchestown last season, and has taken to chasing well, winning cosily over this trip here over Christmas.

Golden Son (Paul Nicholls)

Golden Son won nicely at Kempton Park under an excellent ride from Harry Cobden at this corresponding meeting last year. Mrs Johnny de la Hey is no stranger to a big Saturday afternoon victory either, so the omens are good.

Guard Your Dreams (Nigel Twiston-Davies)

A Cheltenham regular this season, the nine-year-old steps up to three miles for the very first time.

Deeper Blue (David Pipe)

Formerly trained by Harry Fry, Deeper Blue makes his Pond House seasonal debut in a very competitive looking chase. His fitness levels will have to be taken on trust.

Unanswered Prayers (Chris Gordon)

Unseated at the first in the Sussex National, but was fairly well fancied in our horse racing odds for that 3m4½f contest. Lines up as a long shot in this assembled field.

Charlie Uberalles (Dianne Sayer)

Won a decent three mile chase at Doncaster in December, with the second that day – Docpickedme, well and truly franking the form in the Great Yorkshire Chase. He’s a lively outsider.

Katate Dori (Sam Thomas)

In a good vein of form since December, which was born out by a bold showing in the Somerset National. The youngster is dangerous to dismiss off bottom weight with Charlie Deutsch onboard.

Ladbrokes Trophy Prediction & Tips:

  1. Hyland
  2. Charlie Uberalles
  3. Katate Dori
