Now, let’s take a closer look at some betting angles for Wednesday’s Premier League fixtures:
Brentford v Everton – Wednesday, 7.30pm
- Brentford impressed on Friday night under the lights, a 4-0 victory away to Leicester City has moved the Bees closer to the top-half of the Premier League.
- The Bee’s also made club history after that 4-0 victory, it’s the first time they’ve won four away games in a row in the English top-flight in their history.
- Back on home soil for this one but it’s not been great here lately, without a win in their last six home games across all competitions, with five defeats.
——————————– - Many thought Everton could really struggle under David Moyes but it’s been the complete opposite, they’ve lost just one PL under Moyes and are unbeaten in their last six league outings.
- The Toffees may feel hard done by with some refereeing decisions in their 2-2 draw with Man United but will be pleased to see they are now fourteen points above the drop.
- Everton are unbeaten against Brentford in their last five meetings, the reverse fixture finished 0-0 back in November.
Prediction: Draw, Brentford 1-1 Everton.
Manchester United v Ipswich Town – Wednesday, 7.30pm
- Manchester United found themselves 2-0 down at half-time against Everton on Saturday, in an awful first half for the Red Devils. A much-better second half and a bit of luck seen United come from behind to draw 2-2.
- Ruben Amorim has been vocal about how big of a job this one is, he’s not wrong, with Man United currently sat fifteenth in the Premier League.
- The reverse fixture back in November was Amorim’s first game in charge of United, a 1-1 draw at Portman Road.
——————————– - After a 4-1 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur and results elsewhere going against them, Ipswich Town are now five points from safety before their visit to Old Trafford.
- The Tractor Boys have won just one of their last ten Premier League games yet two of their three wins this season have come on the road.
- Ipswich Town fell to one of their biggest defeats here back in 1995, a 9-0 hammering, i don’t think we’ll see anything like that on Wednesday.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Manchester United to win, Man United 3-1 Ipswich Town.
Nottingham Forest v Arsenal – Wednesday, 7.30pm
- Nottingham Forest suffered back-t0-back defeats in the Premier League for the first time since November, after a 4-3 defeat at St James’ Park on Sunday against Newcastle.
- With one win in their last four league outings, the Tricky Trees have just dropped off a little, with their gap to fifth place now just three points.
- Despite recent defeats, Forest remain strong at home, having lost just one of their last ten games at the City Ground in all competitions (W8, D1, L1).
——————————– - Arsenal had the chance to close the gap to league leaders Liverpool but fumbled it once again after suffering a 1-0 defeat to West Ham, it’s a familiar story for Mikel Arteta’s side.
- The Gunners are now eleven points off the top, albeit having played a game less, we’re now at a stage where Arsenal cannot afford anymore slip-ups.
- Arsenal have won here in just one of their last four visits, although did win the reverse fixture 3-0 back in November.
Prediction: Draw, Nottingham Forest 1-1 Arsenal.
Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City – Wednesday, 7.30pm
- Tottenham Hotspur head into this one off the back of a 4-1 victory away at Ipswich on Saturday, they’ve now won three Premier League games in a row for the first time since December 2023.
- Spurs will be hoping to continue climbing up the table as players start to return from injury, they are now up to twelfth, albeit still a long way off those European places.
- These two sides have already met twice this season, with Spurs winning 2-1 in the EFL Cup before a 4-0 win at the Etihad Stadium back in November.
——————————– - Man City faced a very good Liverpool side on Sunday and lost, but despite dominating possession, they didn’t really create anything significant to cause their opponents any issues.
- Erling Haaland had to watch on from the stands with the striker no fit enough to play just yet, they looked toothless in front of goal without the big Norwegian.
- A victory in North London could move City into third depending on results elsewhere, they’ve won just two of their last eight visits here.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Over 2.5 Goals, Tottenham Hotspur 1-2 Manchester City.
Liverpool v Newcastle United – Wednesday, 8.15pm
- What a weekend for Liverpool, with their closest competition in terms of the league title losing, the Reds travelled to Man City and came away with another three points, extending their lead at to top to eleven points.
- Arne Slot’s side will take another leap towards the title with a win here, with only eleven games left to play, it’s going to take a lot to stop Liverpool.
- These two played out a brilliant 3-3 draw back in December, it’s worth noting that their last five meetings at Anfield have seen both teams find the back of the net.
——————————– - Newcastle found themselves 4-1 up against Nottingham Forest at half-time on Sunday but we’re almost hanging on at the end, with the game finishing 4-3 but another huge three points for Eddie Howe and co.
- The Magpies sit just outside the top four now on goal difference, they are well in the fight now for one of those precious top four places.
- It’s been over 30 years since Newcastle United last won at Anfield, they’ve visited Liverpool twenty-nine times since that 2-0 win in 1994, they’ve lost twenty-four of those and drawn five.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Liverpool To Win, Liverpool 2-1 Newcastle United.
