Liverpool given 94% chance of winning title
Liverpool are now 1/16 to win the Premier League title with William Hill following their victory against Manchester City on Sunday – by far the lowest price the bookmaker have offered on any team this campaign.
The Reds started the weekend at 1/3 to lift the Premier League crown, but their new price of 1/16 gives an implied probability of 94% that they will be champions when the season ends in May.
Mo Salah is now leading the way in the Ballon d’Or market and a Liverpool title success would certainly enhance his claims for the individual accolade.
Liverpool’s main title contenders, Arsenal, succumbed to West Ham at the Emirates on Saturday, seeing their price shoot up from 5/2 to 10/1.
William Hill spokesperson, Lee Phelps, said: “Liverpool’s first win at the Etihad since 2015 has all but secured the Premier League title in our eyes, with the Reds are now the overwhelming 1/16 favourites for the title – an implied probability of 94%.
“Arsenal’s loss to West Ham leaves them with a mountain to climb – Mikel Arteta’s men were in the running prior to the loss, priced at 5/2, but now trade at 10/1 after the weekend’s results.”
