Now, let’s take a closer look at some betting angles for Saturday’s Premier League fixtures:
Nottingham Forest v Manchester City – Saturday, 12.30pm
- Nottingham Forest have won just one of their last five league games, a run of form which has now seen the Tricky Trees drop off the pace in terms of top two, with a gap of just four points from sixth.
- Nuno Espirito Santo’s side booked their place in the FA Cup quarter-final after beating Ipswich Town on penalties, that extended their unbeaten run on home soil to nine gams in all competitions.
- You have to go back to 2009 for the last time Nottingham Forest beat Manchester City in a competitive fixture.
——————————– - Manchester City made it back-to-back wins for the first time since January after following up their 1-0 victory away at Tottenham, with a 3-1 win against Championship side Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup.
- It’s been a dismal campaign for Man City but Pep Guardiola’s side still have a big chance of claiming the FA Cup and finishing in the top four, victory in this one would move them up to third.
- The Citizens are unbeaten against Forest since their return to the Premier League, having won four of their five meetings.
Prediction: Manchester City To Come From Behind and Win, Nottingham Forest 1-2 Manchester City.
Brighton & Hove Albion v Fulham – Saturday, 3pm
- Brighton look to have found form at the right time, having won their last three league games, the Seagulls sit in eighth and just four points off the top four ahead of their clash with Fulham.
- Fabian Hurzeler’s side confirmed their place in the last eight of the FA Cup with an impressive victory in extra-time away to Newcastle United last weekend.
- Brighton have the chance to close the gap to those European places but will be aware of their poor record against Fulham, having not won in their last nine competitive meetings.
——————————– - Fulham are another side in fine form at the moment, having lost just one of their last six outings, they’ll be full of confidence following their victory in the FA Cup against Manchester United on Sunday.
- Life on the road has been a pleasant one for Marco Silva’s team, losing just one of their last eleven away games in all competitions.
- The Cottagers have scored two of more in six of their last seven away games including trips to Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Draw, Brighton 2-2 Fulham.
Crystal Palace v Ipswich Town – Saturday, 3pm
- Crystal Palace kept their dreams of FA Cup success alive after a 3-1 victory against rivals Millwall on Saturday, although the injury to Jean-Philippe Mateta overshadowed the result a little.
- After a slow start to the campaign, Oliver Glasner is getting the best out of the Eagles, they’ve lost just two of their last thirteen games in all competitions.
- With that being said, Palace do tend to enjoy their travels more than games on home soil, where they’ve won just three of their fourteen league games so far.
——————————– - It was heartbreak for Ipswich Town on Monday evening, having taken Nottingham Forest all the way to penalties in the FA Cup fifth round before suffering an early exit.
- The attention must now turn to the Premier League as the Tractor Boys look to keep fighting for their safety, with just eleven games left to play and five points from safety, we’re heading towards “must win territory”.
- Ipswich have won just two of their thirteen league games away from home this season, whilst they’ve won just one of their last nine games in all competitions.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Crystal Palace to win, Crystal Palace 2-1 Ipswich Town.
Liverpool v Southampton – Saturday, 3pm
- Liverpool must feel like things are just meant to be this season, not only are the Reds thirteen points clear in the league, they left Paris with a 1-0 advantage in the UEFA Champions League despite being dominated by PSG.
- This just displays the courage that Arne Slot’s side have right now, they’ve still only lost one game in the Premier League after twenty-eight outings, remarkable.
- The Reds could find themselves with one hand of the trophy after this weekend, victory here would put more pressure on Arsenal and their trip to Old Trafford on Sunday.
——————————– - Southampton had the week off due to the FA Cup fifth round, something i’m sure would have been welcomed given the terrible situation they find themselves in.
- The Saints have picked up just nine points this season and are on course to take Derby County’s unwanted record of picking up the least amount of points (eleven) in Premier League history.
- Southampton have won just one of their fourteen away trips this season in the league, whilst they haven’t won at Anfield in the league since 2013.
Prediction: Liverpool To Score 4 or More, Liverpool 4-0 Southampton.
Brentford v Aston Villa – Saturday, 5.30pm
- Brentford find themselves just six points off the top six in the Premier League, although a top-half finish will be the aim, there is still a slight chance of a European finish.
- However, the Bees have struggled at home in recent weeks, their 1-1 draw against Everton in their last outing extended their winless run to seven games at home.
- We should get goals in this one, as eleven of Brentford’s fourteen league games at home so far have seen both teams score (79%).
——————————– - Aston Villa had a UEFA Champions League fixture to deal with prior to this trip to London, their last sixteen tie with Club Brugge looked to be heading to a stalemate before two late goals gave Villa a big 3-1 advantage ahead of the return leg next week.
- Unai Emery’s side have played nine UCL games during this campaign, they’ve only won one of their games following which is a concern.
- Villa have seen twenty of their twenty-eight league games produce both teams to score, whilst six of their last seven meetings with Brentford have produced the same.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Draw, Brentford 1-1 Aston Villa.
Wolves v Everton – Saturday, 8pm
- Wolves exited the FA Cup on Saturday after suffering heartbreak in a penalty shootout against Bournemouth, Matheus Cunha completely lost his head and faces another ban following his red card in extra-time, not for the first time this season.
- Cunha will be a huge miss for Wolves , the Old Gold have a fairly comfortable five point gap to the bottom three in the Premier League but just two wins in their last nine league games is a concern.
- Wolves will be looking for revenge on Saturday night having lost the reserve fixture 4-0 back in December, they’ve lost just once here to Everton in their last seven meetings.
——————————– - Everton’s transformation under David Moyes has been remarkable, they’ve lost just one of their last seven league games since Moyes took over, a run of form which has seen them go from a relegation battle to fifteen points clear of the drop.
- If Everton can avoid defeat at Molineux on Saturday evening, it’ll be the first time they’ve gone four unbeaten away from home since 2023.
- I think this will be a close encounter, Wolves have won five of their last seven against Everton but could struggle without Cunha.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Draw, Wolves 1-1 Everton.
