Arnold Palmer Invitational Day 2 Overview: Nau or never for Tony

The 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational promises to be another exciting event on the PGA Tour schedule this season.
Held at the iconic Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando, Florida, the tournament stands as a tribute to the late Arnold Palmer, a golfing legend whose impact on the game transcended his on-course accomplishments.
Since the first round has already concluded, we’re overviewing the remaining three rounds with the players’ placements in mind, and where the remaining value is in the market.
Our PGA Tour predictions have steadied over the last few weeks, with Min Woo Lee finishing T11 at the Cognizant Classic, although Seamus Power couldn’t make the cut. We’re hoping this week, we can continue the trend and aim for a top 5 place.
Tony Finau – 45/1 (Day 2)
Fan-favourite Tony Finau is even par for round one. The American has finished in the top 15 in three of the last five events he’s played in this season. Most recently was an impressive 8-under at the Genesis Invitational, finishing four shots off the winner.
While the three-time Ryder Cup team member hasn’t won an event since 2023, Finau has shown consistency in recent months and seems only a few rounds away from a statement win on tour.
Finau snuck into the top 25 the last time he played at the Arnold Palmer and we feel this could be his week to shine, especially given his eye will be on making it into the top 6 for the US Ryder Cup team rankings. A win here would go along way in putting him well in contention for automatic selection for Bethpage.
Finau has started his week well at Bay Hill, carding a very respectable even-par in his first round. Tied fifteenth, he can make serious inroads on Day 2 to challenge the top of the leaderboard.
Michael Kim – 200/1 (Day 2)
Our outsider pick this week for the Arnold Palmer is Michael Kim, who’s currently T33 after his first round. Four straight top 15 finishes in his last four events shows us there’s incredible value to be had with this pick.
The 31-year-old South Korean is in firing form as of late and is edging closer to clinching his first PGA tour win since 2018. Kim was in the mix for the Phoenix Open a month ago, finishing in a tie for second with Daniel Berger, behind Thomas Detry’s sensational 24-under par total.
A lacklustre even-par final round at the Cognizant Classic gave Kim little chance of lifting the trophy, but carded a very respectable 15-under par to finish six places back and four shots off the winner. While Kim hasn’t started too strongly, carding +3 on the first day, he’s placed approximately midtable and can jump into contention for a top-10 finish if he can score well in his second round and subsequently make the cut.
