Premier League Puma Ball 2025-26

After a midweek full of European action, the Premier League returns this weekend for Matchday nine with all fixtures taking place across Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

@Footy_Tipster gives his best predictions ahead of this round of fixtures in the English Premier League..

The Premier League is back this weekend, with ten games taking place up and down England over three days, we’re guaranteed to be in for more drama at this early stage in the English top-flight. Make sure to check out this weekends Acca on William Hill News.

Due to European commitments from quite a few of the Premier League sides during midweek, Sunday offers up five games throughout the day.

We have four games that kick-off at the same time of 2pm, league leaders Arsenal welcome Crystal Palace to the Emirates Stadium, Aston Villa will be hoping to bounce back from European disappointment when they face Manchester City at Villa Park, Bournemouth take on Nottingham Forest on the south coast, whilst Wolves and Burnley battle it out for an important three points at Molineux.

This weekends Premier League action will conclude at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with Everton taking on Tottenham Hotspur.

You can view the Arsenal v Crystal Palace Bet Builder on William Hill News.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some Premier League odds and Premier League betting angles for Sunday’s fixtures:

Arsenal v Crystal Palace – Sunday, 2pm

Punters can bet on Arsenal v Crystal Palace with William Hill

  • Arsenal are looking very strong already having put together an unbeaten run of nine games across all competitions (W8, D1), their latest victory came here in North London against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, a 4-0 victory which produced more goals from set-pieces for the Gunners.
  • Mikel Arteta’s side have conceded just three goals in their eight Premier League games so far and shifting them off the table might be difficult, with the Gunners losing just two of their previous seventy league games on home soil whilst starting the day at the summit.
  • Arsenal have had a successful few years in this meeting, they remain unbeaten in the last seven games between these two sides, whilst they’ve won three of the last four here at the Emirates Stadium.
    ——————————–
  • Crystal Palace’s club record run of nineteen unbeaten games seems like an age ago now, they’ve won just one of their four games played in October and head to Arsenal off the back of a shocking 1-0 defeat to huge underdogs AEK Larnaca on Thursday.
  • The Eagles have a tendency to draw in the Premier League and that’s shown again already this season, with four stalemates from their eight games so far and despite losing just once so far, that sole defeat did occur in their last away trip at Everton.
  • Palace haven’t won away at Arsenal since 2019, going seven visits without a win but they do have a habit of getting themselves on the scoresheet, scoring in seven of their last nine visits to the Emirates.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Arsenal To Win, Arsenal 2-1 Crystal Palace

Aston Villa v Manchester City – Sunday, 2pm

Punters can bet on Aston Villa v Manchester City with William Hill

  • After a dismal start to the new campaign, Aston Villa had looked to had turned a corner with five victories in a row across all competitions but that came to a crashing end on Thursday night after an embarrassing defeat to Dutch side Go Ahead Eagles.
  • That just shows that there’s still some vulnerabilities within Unai Emery’s side but maybe returning back to Villa Park will be exactly what they need, having lost just one of their last twenty-six home games in all competitions.
  • One of those twenty-six outings came against no other than Manchester City, a game in which Villa won 2-1 meaning they’ve now won the last two meetings between these two sides at Villa Park.
    ——————————–————————
  • Manchester City just continue to gain momentum, with a 2-0 victory away to Villarreal in the UEFA Champions League, the Blues have now extended their unbeaten run to nine games in all competitions.
  • Pep Guardiola’s side shouldn’t fear being on the road either on Sunday, as they’ve lost just one of their last twelve away natches (W7, D4) in all competitions and despite not winning here since 2021, this one feels different.
  • Six of the last seven meetings between these two sides have seen both teams find the back of the net, i think we’ll see the same here with Villa’s impressive home record but i’m backing City to edge this in a close encounter.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Manchester City To Win, Aston Villa 1-2 Man City.

Bournemouth v Nottingham Forest – Sunday, 2pm

Punters can bet on Bournemouth v Nottingham Forest with William Hill

  • Bournemouth are just one of three sides (Arsenal & Crystal Palace) that have only lost once so far in this Premier League campaign, Andoni Iraola’s side are now unbeaten in their last seven top-flight games.
  • Despite letting go a 2-0 lead away at Palace last weekend, the Cherries enter matchday nine in the top four, they pushed for a European place last season but fell short towards the end of the season, they’ve made the right type of response.
  • The Cherries also hold an impressive record against Nottingham Forest, they’re unbeaten in their last ten league games against the Tricky Trees (W6, D4) and won this fixture in style back in January, 5-0.
    ——————————–
  • Nottingham Forest already look rejuvenated under Sean Dyche, having not won in any of ten games prior to Dyche’s arrival, it took the Tricky Trees just ninety minutes to get their first win under their new boss.
  • Forest became the first side this season to beat FC Porto on Thursday night in the Europa League and they’ll be looking to make a statement in the Premier League as well on Sunday, as they sit in the bottom three and two points from safety.
  • Nottingham Forest haven’t beaten Bournemouth away from home since 2014 during a Championship campaign, i’m going to go against the betting odds in this one and back the Tricky Trees to get themselves a draw.

Prediction: Draw, Bournemouth 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Wolves v Burnley – Sunday, 2pm

Punters can bet on Wolves v Burnley with William Hill

  • We’ve only played eight games so far but this one feels like a must win for Wolverhampton Wanderers, who sit at the bottom of the Premier League and remain the only side yet to pick up three points in this PL campaign.
  • Defeat here would see Wolves trail potential relegation contenders Burnley by eight points which seems huge even at this stage but with two wins in their last two meetings here against the side from Lancashire, maybe this could be the turning point.
  • Although this one definitely isn’t a given, with the Old Gold already suffering two defeats against the other two Premier League newbies in Leeds and most recently Sunderland, another defeat here would see Vitor Pereira under huge pressure.
    ——————————–
  • Having picked up just one point from their last five Premier League games, Burnley put an end to the poor run of form with a big 2-0 victory against Leeds United last weekend, a win that moved the Clarets out of the bottom three by two points.
  • However, it’s been a struggle on the road so far for Scott Parker’s side, they remain the only side in the Premier League this season that are yet to pick up a single point on the road, albeit they’ve had tough fixtures.
  • With Scott Parker losing all three of his PL encounters 1-0 against Wolves, something similar on Sunday wouldn’t be too much of a surprise and if we don’t see a Wolves victory here, we can all agree that they are in big trouble.

Prediction: Under 2.5 Goals, Wolves 1-0 Burnley.

Everton v Tottenham Hotspur – Sunday, 4.30pm

Punters can bet on Everton v Tottenham Hotspur with William Hill

  • After a real positive start to the new campaign for Everton, it’s started to slow down in recent weeks with the Toffees winning just one of their last six games in all competitions, the Blues enter matchday nine sat in twelfth place.
  • The good news for David Moyes’ side is they return to their new home on Sunday, a place where they are still yet to taste defeat (W3, D2) and four games unbeaten at home in the PL is their best start to a league season since the 2016/2017 campaign.
  • Everton have won just one of their last ten meetings against Tottenham Hotspur in all competitions, that sole victory came back in January and another win on Sunday would secure back-to-back victories against Spurs for the first time since 2012.
    ——————————–
  • Tottenham Hotspur are another side that are just struggling to put a real run of form together, Thomas Frank’s side have won just one of their last five games in all competitions and travel to Merseyside off the back of a 0-0 draw away to Monaco.
  • Notwithstanding their recent form, Spurs have still made a positive start to this new Premier League campaign and sit sixth at the time of writing, only one point separates them from Bournemouth in fourth.
  • It’s been on home soil where Spurs have struggled for form and on the road they look a different side, topping the Premier League form table having not lost any of their first four away trips in the league, six of the last seven meetings here have ended in a stalemate.

Prediction: Tottenham To Score Over 1.5 Goals, Everton 2-2 Tottenham Hotspur
