Cheltenham Tips Cheltenham: Showcase Meeting Predictions (2025)
The action continues on Saturday, with another seven races offering an early indication of form and setting the stage for the season ahead.
William Hill are proud to be sponsoring four of the races on the card, including three competitive Chases and a Novices’ Hurdle.
1.10pm – 2m4f William Hill Each Way Extra Novices’ Limited H’cp Chase (Class 3)
Trainer Henry de Bromhead isn’t one to particularly flood this October meeting with runners, so when one does arrive at Prestbury Park – you take note!
Six-year-old ZURICH was awarded the Waterfall Handicap Chase in the stewards’ room after a bumper-car finish to the 2m1f event at Killarney. The Doctor Dino-gelding steps up in distance today which should come as a seamless matter to him.
1.45pm – 3m Play William Hill’s Final One Standing Novices’ Hurdle (Class 2)
CONMAN JOHN turned in a likable performance at Kelso at the start of the month, knuckling down to beat his stablemate in a close finish to a 2m5f Novices’ Hurdle.
The Irish PTP recruit has already won at three miles, so this Cheltenham trip will be ideal for him.
2.20pm – 3m1f William Hill Best Odds Guaranteed Handicap Chase (Class 2)
Joe Tizzard’s ROCK MY WAY will be a popular pick on Saturday, given his proximity to Haiti Couleurs in the National Hunt Chase at The Festival.
The seven-year-old followed that performance up with a solid fifth in the Scottish National, so we know he stays this kind of trip all day.
2.55pm – 3m Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle (Qualifier) (Class 2)
With Olly Murphy and Sean Bowen currently mopping everything up over the sticks between them, it’s hard to ignore the obvious chances of LONG DRAW here.
Twice a winner at Cheltenham over the new course, the old course should be just as favourable to the six-year-old, and he’s an attractive price at 6/1.
3.30pm – 2m½f Masterson Holdings Hurdle (Class 2)
It’s really hard to oppose the betting hotpot GIVE IT TO ME OJ today as he brings all the best form to the table.
Runner-up in the Victor Ludorum at Haydock, then fourth in the Grade 1 4-Y-O Juvenile Hurdle (Grade 1) at Aintree, none of the others can match him in that respect and he a worthy favourite.
4.05pm – 3m1f William Hill ‘Chasing Excellence’ Novices’ Chase (Class 2)
A winner here twelve months ago over hurdles, INTENSE APPROACH (NAP) returns as a winning chaser and could well lead them all a merry dance in a different sphere.
The six-year-old kept on well in a 2m6½f contest at Galway in August, and I can see him being in the van all the way here.
4.40pm – 2m½f Open National Hunt Flat Race (Class 2)
LE BEAU MADRIK already has some bumper experience for the Skelton’s, and is a solid pic in the closing race on the card.
That spin at Plumpton in April will have knocked his greenness off, and he will be much wiser in this Cheltenham affair.
