Next BBC Director General After Tim Davie Odds:

Punters can place a bet on the next BBC Director General at William Hill and here is the current state of the market:

  • Jane Turton – 2/1
  • Kate Phillips – 3/1
  • Alex Mahon – 4/1
  • Carolyn McCall – 5/1
  • Anne Mensah – 5/1
  • Charlotte Moore – 6/1
  • Jay Hunt – 7/1
  • Dana Strong – 10/1
  • Bar – 12/1

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “The resignation of both BBC Director General Tim Davie and CEO Deborah Turness over reports of ‘selective editing’ of a Trump speech has sent shockwaves through the media.

“The BBC board, led by Chairman Samir Shah, will now convene to appoint a new Director General and we think All3Media’s CEO and former ITV Director of Commercial and Business Affairs Jane Turton could be in line for the role at 2/1.

“Kate Phillips, the current Chief Content Officer at the BBC is next in the market at 3/1 and is the leading internal candidate, while Channel 4’s Alex Mahon is priced at 4/1.

“The betting indicates that we could see the first female BBC Director General in the corporation’s history, with Jeremy Darroch (12/1) the first male candidate listed.”
