PFA Player Of The Year Odds & Predictions (2025/26)
Who will win the 2025/26 PFA Player of the Year award? Our writer looks through some of the leading contenders as we enter the latest international break.
Erling Haaland is the clear betting favourite to win PFA Player of the Year as of Nov. 10. Haaland has 14 goals already this season (six more than any other player). Gabriel Magalhães is the Norwegian’s nearest rival at 9/2, as Arsenal look to rival Chelsea’s record for the fewest goals conceded in a Premier League season.
Gabriel is aiming to become the first defender to win the award since Virgil van Dijk in 2018-19. John Terry (2004-05) is the only other defender to be named PFA Player of the Year since 1992-93.
Haaland won the honour in 2022-23. The winner of the award often comes from the Premier League-winning team, but Mohamed Salah (2021-22) and Kevin De Bruyne (2019-20) are recent exceptions.
With a four-point lead at the top of the table, it’s no surprise Arsenal are strongly represented in the chasing pack behind Haaland with Gabriel, Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi, David Raya, and William Saliba between 9/2 and 33/1.

Haaland’s Case
Haaland has eight goals more than any other Premier League player if we conveniently exclude Igor Thiago’s tally of eight. Not only is Haaland clear in the goal-scoring charts – his 1.05 xG per 90 minutes is miles ahead of anyone else.
The 4.1 shots per match are also 1.2 ahead of second-placed Jean-Philippe Mateta. Most notably, this isn’t some fluky early-season streak. This is the sort of production we have become accustomed to with Haaland, and there’s no Alexander Isak or Salah to keep pace with him this time around.
It is possible to win this award if your team doesn’t win the league. Salah and De Bruyne have done so recently. Haaland is exactly the calibre of stand-out talent that can post numbers eye-catching enough to outshine the title winners.
Of course, City are still very much in the title race, too.
Historic Arsenal Defence
Gabriel’s Arsenal conceded three goals in the first 10 matches of the season. Up to five goals against after 11 matches, their hopes of breaking Chelsea’s record have been dented, but the Gunners are still on course for one of the best defensive seasons in Premier League history.
A couple of assists and a goal shouldn’t make too much difference when choosing between Gabriel and Saliba. It’s all about the success of the partnership, so narrowing that down to one player for award contention seems harsh.
Significantly, David Raya’s underlying shot-stopping numbers are only middling so far this season. The way Arsenal have prevented chances is incredibly impressive, and their central defensive duo play a big role in the effectiveness of their attacking set pieces.
Saliba certainly represents the better value of the two as it stands. Declan Rice, too, is worth consideration due to his impact all over the field.
Interesting Outsiders
Moises Caicedo and Jeremy Doku have been two of the Premier League’s standout performers so far this season. The former is doing it all for Chelsea. The latter leads the league in expected assists and his 74 progressive carries are 14 more than second-placed Jack Grealish.
Chelsea are only six points behind Arsenal. A serious title challenge is unlikely, but it’s in play for the Blues to finish in the top three with Caicedo dominating in midfield.
Doku’s chances probably depend on Haaland missing time through injury. His path to the award likely requires City to win the league – or at least get very close – while he posts double-digit marks in goals and assists.
