Scottish Premiership Betting Tips for Celtic v Rangers

Celtic

The Scottish Premiership returns this weekend with both Celtic and Rangers looking to keep up with the league leaders Hearts as we enter the New Year.

@Footy_Tipster gives his best predictions ahead of this round of fixtures in the Scottish Premiership..

This is the 448th edition of the Old Firm derby in major competitions, both sides have won 171 matches as bragging rights are up for grabs once again on Saturday, it’s Celtic v Rangers in another mouth-watering encounter.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some Scottish Premiership odds and betting angles for Saturday’s fixture:

Celtic v Rangers – Saturday, 12.30pm

Punters can bet on Celtic v Rangers with William Hill

  • Winning just two of your first seven games (L5) in charge of Celtic, including a cup final defeat is never a good start but that’s exactly what Wilfried Nancy has produced, he failed to get fans on board from the get-go and now he’s under real pressure, defeat here could see an end to his time in charge.
  • Celtic found themselves three points behind the league leaders Hearts after their 2-0 defeat at Motherwell on Tuesday, they look low on confidence right now but they return to Celtic Park where they’ve lost just one of their nine league games thus far (W7, D1).
  • This is the second meeting so far this season, their league meeting back in August ended in a goalless draw whilst the Hoops won the league cup semi-final contest against the 10-men of Rangers but only after extra-time, the last three meetings have all ended in a stalemate, with Celtic winning none of the last six head-to-heads within ninety minutes.
    ——————————–
  • When Danny Rohl took charge of Rangers back in October, even the most optimistic Gers fan wouldn’t have mentioned a title contention this season given they were eight points behind Celtic and thirteen points behind Hearts at the summit.
  • However, just one defeat in his eleven league games in charge of Rangers (W8, D2, L1) means his side can actually go level with their rivals Celtic with a victory on Saturday and put themselves back in the title conversation.
  • Rangers have the second best away record in the league this season but they’ve seen four of their nine games end in a draw on the road, whilst they’ve won just one of their last nine league visits to Celtic Park, i’m expecting a tense affair in Glasgow and another draw wouldn’t come as a shock.

Prediction: Draw, Celtic 1-1 Rangers.
