Next Man Utd Manager Odds: Oliver Glasner favourite to replace Amorim
Manchester United are on the hunt for a new manager after Ruben Amorim was relieved of his duties less than 24 hours after his side drew 1-1 away at Leeds United, with Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner the early favourite to take over.
Ruben Amorim has been sacked as the Manchester United boss after taking charge of sixty-three games, the club felt that with just twenty-four victories (38.71% win percentage) in that period and with the Red Devils sitting sixth in the Premier League, a change was needed.
Manchester United’s statement read; ‘Ruben was appointed in November 2024 and led the team to a UEFA Europa League Final in Bilbao in May.
With Manchester United sitting sixth in the Premier League, the club’s leadership has reluctantly made the decision that it is the right time to make a change. This will give the team the best opportunity of the highest possible Premier League finish.
The club would like to thank Ruben for his contribution to the club and wishes him well for the future.
Darren Fletcher will take charge of the team against Burnley on Wednesday’
Oliver Glasner has emerged as the early favourite to take over at Old Trafford, the current Crystal Palace boss is yet to sign a new contract with the Eagles and his return rate of 1.66 points per games during his 93 games in charge and his success in the FA Cup last season is something that will catch the eye of the United board.
Gareth Southgate, former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca and two former Manchester United players Laurent Blanc and Michael Carrick are amongst the early contenders for the job.
They’ll be plenty of interest in this job and we’ve set out below a list of early contenders and their odds.
