Sunday Horse Racing Tips: Best Bets At Naas & Sedgefield

Chepstow Horse Racing

Racing takes place at Naas and Sedgefield on Sunday with two Graded contests forming part of a competitive card at the Irish venue.

Here are my races to watch on Sunday afternoon:

2.25pm Naas – 2m Limestone Lad Hurdle (Grade 3) (5yo+)

Unsurprisingly none of these can shine a light to the great Limestone Lad himself, but steady Eddie GLEN KILN can show us some similar grit and determination based on his previous efforts this season.

Rated 144, David Kelly’s seven-year-old has given it his all against some tough opposition this term already. Second to Lossiemouth and El Fabiolo – albeit by some distance, this race is considerably easier today and he can put up a bold show.

3.25pm Naas – 3m½f Naas Novice Chase (Grade 3) (5yo+)

Those of you with a long memory like me will remember the quality chaser Lastofthebrownies and the connections of BOSSOFTHEBROWNIES would dearly love their own horse to emulate him.

Trained by Mouse Morris, the seven-year-old has taken to the chasing game well, scoring by a wide margin at Fairyhouse in November, finishing a decent third in the Florida Pearl Novices’ Chase at Punchestown, then came third here 16 days ago behind Flicker Of Hope.

The Ocovango-gelding is well worth taking the betting favourite on with as a speculative each-way punt.

1.40 Sedgefield – 2m3½ Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Chase

The Racing To Profit syndicate are enjoying their fair share of successes this season and their DIXIE COWBOY (NAP) can give them another great day out on Sunday.

A winner here over a shorter trip in November, Sam England has decided it’s time to step the Westerner-gelding back up a few furlongs, a distance he’s done well at before – namely Southwell in April 2024.

According to the horse racing betting, Dixie Cowboy’s main danger is Rehill Relic, however I think that horse will struggle under the top-weight burden of 12st with a tall lad onboard too.

3.40 Sedgefield – 3m2½f Handicap Chase (5yo+ 0-105)

Veteran TOM CREEN certainly knows his way around Sedgefield and the experienced chaser looks as though he may well have too much for the assembled field here.

Rated 104, the eleven-year-old is a five-time career scorer and trainer Sam England has found a nice opening for him this weekend.
