Punter Lands £30k Despite Celtic Postponement

A William Hill customer landed a superb £30,360 payout from a £40 17-fold match result accumulator, after a bet slip stacked with favourites delivered.

The winning accumulator, which returned £30,360 with Acca Boost adding the maximum £10,000 bonus, featured dominant victories in England, Scotland, Germany, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Greece and France.

The bet got off to a flying start as Manchester City beat Newcastle 3–1 in the English League Cup and Inter Milan edged Torino 2–1 in the Coppa Italia.

In Germany, Stuttgart cruised to a 3–0 success at Holstein Kiel in the DfB Cup, while Lyon brushed aside Laval 2–0 and Lens won a 4–2 thriller at Troyes in the Coupe de France.

Olympiacos eased to a 3–0 victory away at Asteras in the Greek Super League, and Atletico Madrid produced one of the standout results of the night with a 5–0 demolition of Real Betis in the Copa del Rey.

There was no slip from the big guns elsewhere either, as Al‑Nassr defeated Al‑Ittihad 2–0 in the Saudi Pro League and Rangers thumped Kilmarnock 5–1 in the William Hill Scottish Premiership.

In the Premier League, Manchester United beat Tottenham 2–0 after Cristian Romero’s 29th‑minute red card, Arsenal swept aside Sunderland 3–0 and West Ham claimed a 2–0 away win at Burnley. Chelsea were also on the scoresheet, winning 3–1 at Wolves thanks to a Cole Palmer hat-trick.

The European heavyweights continued to oblige, with Real Madrid winning 2–0 away at Valencia in La Liga and Bayern Munich routing Hoffenheim 5–1 in the Bundesliga, a game lit up by a Luis Díaz hat-trick.

The only game not to be played was Aberdeen v Celtic in the William Hill Scottish Premiership, where the punter had backed Celtic; that postponement meant the selection was voided and the 17-fold settled on the remaining legs.

With every played fixture going the punter’s way, the bet returned £20,360 – before William Hill’s Acca Boost added a further £10,000 to take the final payout to £30,360.

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “This is a fantastic example of a customer putting their faith in a long list of favourites and watching them produce the goods across the board. From Manchester City in England to Bayern Munich and Real Madrid on the continent, the big names stepped up, and even a waterlogged pitch in Scotland couldn’t derail what turned into a dream night for this acca.

“Hat-tricks from Cole Palmer at Molineux and Luis Diaz for Bayern helped secure the winnings, while Cristian Romero’s dismissal at Old Trafford would’ve been a welcome event for this customer, as it put the odds heavily against Spurs to overcome Man United.

“Our Acca Boost has again played a major part, adding the full £10,000 bonus on top of more than £20,000 in standard returns, to turn a £40 stake into £30,360. It’s a brilliant win and surely one of the biggest football accumulators we have seen.”
