Hearts at Ibrox: Leaders face Rangers as Celtic eye title odds

The leading duo in the William Hill Scottish Premiership meet on Sunday, whilst Celtic will be looking to close the gap and possibly end the weekend above their rivals, as the title race heats up.

@Footy_Tipster gives his best predictions ahead of this round of fixtures in the William Hill Scottish Premiership..

Sunday afternoon will see all three William Hill Scottish Premiership title contenders in action, Rugby Park awaits as Kilmarnock welcome Celtic at 2pm, whilst Rangers welcome the league-leaders Hearts to Ibrox at 4.30pm in a mouth-watering encounter.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some William Hill Scottish Premiership odds and betting angles for Sunday’s fixtures:

Kilmarnock v Celtic – Sunday, 2pm

Punters can bet on Kilmarnock v Celtic with William Hill

  • Kilmarnock sit eleventh out of twelve in the William Hill Scottish Premiership having won just four of their first twenty-six league games this season, Killie have won each of their last two home games in the league and can make it three in a row for the first time since April/May last year.
  • This is the third time that these two sides have met this season with Killie tasting defeat in both of those league outings, that extended their winless run against Celtic to eight games in all competitions, losing each of the last seven.
  • You have to go back to December 2023 for the last time that Kilmarnock secured a home win against the Hoops, Killie have improved since Neil McCann took charge but this is a big ask to keep their winning streak going on home soil.
    ——————————–————————
  • Celtic faced a struggling Livingston side on Wednesday night and looked to had dropped two points, having produced twenty-nine shots on the night it took a 91st minute winner from new-boy Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to secure a huge three points.
  • Since taking over for a second time this season, Martin O’Neil remains unbeaten having seen his side win seven of their nine games so far (W7, D2), victory here would see the Bhoys move to within three points of Hearts before they kick-off at Ibrox.
  • Celtic have only lost one of their previous twenty-one league matches against Kilmarnock (W18 D2), that stands them in good stead ahead of another trip to Rugby Park, i’m backing an away win in this one.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Celtic To Win, Kilmarnock 1-2 Celtic.

Rangers v Hearts – Sunday, 4.30pm

Punters can bet on Rangers v Hearts with William Hill

  • Rangers lost ground on Hearts on Wednesday night after a 1-1 draw away at Motherwell, made even more frustrating given they conceded a late goal despite having a man advantage, a stalemate which leave Danny Rolh’s side five points off the top.
  • The Gers will be happy returning to Ibrox for this one, they’ve won each of their last nine games here in all competitions, whilst their last defeat here came back in November 2025, thirteen games ago.
  • Rangers have lost both of their meetings this season against Hearts, including a 2-0 defeat here back in September whilst under the tenure of Russell Martin, it’s a much different Gers side this though and they’ll be hoping to close this gap at the top.
    ——————————–————————
  • Hearts have it in their own hands now, a victory against their Edinburgh rivals Hibs on Tuesday would have delighted boss Derek McInnes after seeing his side lose 1-0 to St Mirren in their previous league outing.
  • The Jambos travel to Ibrox with the best away record in the Scottish top-flight, they’ve won eight of their thirteen games away from home and tasted defeat on just three of their road trips in the league.
  • Hearts did win their last visit here but that remains their only win at this side of Glasgow in their last eighteen league visits, their last win here other than Septembers victory came back in 2014 in the Championship, this one will be a belter and i’m backing Rangers to get the job done.

Prediction: Rangers To Win, Rangers 1-0 Hearts.
