William Hill Spring Festival Trials Day at Naas: Mullins Recruit The Best Bet
Sunday sees an exciting day of top-tier racing as the road to the spring festivals heats up at Naas Racecourse. The feature race of the day is the Grade 3 Novice Chase.
William Hill are proud to sponsor the card once again, and we have a fantastic New Customer Offer to get €60 in free bets when you deposit and bet €10.
2.00 – 2m William Hill Maiden Hurdle
There are plenty of runners in the Naas opener, but very few with chances, which should be the green light for Gordon Elliott’s LYNCHES KNOCK to score.
Second to Kai Lung at this venue last month, the four-year-old holds the best form of any of these runners.
2.30 – 2m William Hill App Juvenile Hurdle (Listed Race)
Willie Mullins and Kenny Alexander purchased MAJOLIQUE (NAP) after she won on debut at Longchamp in a 1m2f maiden fillies event.
In a well-run race, she quickened away stylishly to beat an odds-on favourite owned by the Aga Khan. She is clearly going to have plenty of potential going forward.
3.00 – 2m William Hill Each Way Extra Handicap Hurdle
The Ciaran Murphy-trained MOUDAN has been in decent form this season and is the percentage call in this handicap hurdle.
A winner of a novice chase on Boxing Day, connections are going back down the hurdling route again with him.
3.30 – 3m Pertemps Network Group Handicap Hurdle
My speculative each-way pick is the Thomas Cooper-trained D ART D ART.
The 130-rated hurdler ran so bad to be true 20 days ago, but I was particularly impressed by his effort in last year’s Pertemps Final at the Cheltenham Festival, and that level of form should stand up here.
4.00 – William Hill INH Flat Race
The grey Caravaggio-gelding IT’S GOOD TO TALK catches my eye in this line-up, given his Gleeson family links and that fact that Emmet Mullins has jocked up John Gleeson to ride.
Gleeson is a confident young amateur rider and can fend of any challenge that comes his way, especially from the well fancied Gigginstown runner.
4.30 – 2m William Hill Racing Bet Builder Chase (Grade 3)
Our William Hill Racing Ambassador Gavin Cromwell gives a positive word to his runner PATH D’OROUX in the feature race, which leads me to suggesting you back the nine-year-old each-way in our horse racing betting market.
The Coastal Path-gelding is a few pounds below his last winning mark, so if he can get back to his best, he holds an outside chance.
5.00 – William Hill Best Odds Novice Handicap Chase (Listed Race)
Cromwell runs MYWAYOFTHINKIN in the closing William Hill-sponsored Listed novice handicap chase, with the trainer pointing out that there have been glimmers of hope here and there.
A fine big horse, he will hopefully find these conditions should suit and is well worth an each-way interest in the sports betting.
