Fitzpatrick Brothers Sting William Hill With Zurich Classic Triumph
William Hill News can reveal that victory for Matt and Alex Fitzpatrick at the 2026 Zurich Classic proved costly, with 41% of outright stakes on the English brothers to prevail last week.
With the golf season really cranking up a gear, the Fitzpatrick brothers were well supported ahead of the team event in New Orleans and they duly obliged – giving punters a nice payday and William Hill a substantial payout.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “We knew going into the Zurich Classic that the Fitzpatrick brothers were comfortably our worst result, and once they hit the front it quickly became clear that we were staring at a sizeable payout.
“Matt and Alex ended up taking 41% of all outright stakes and their triumph delivered a five‑figure payout to our customers. The English pair had already been flagged pre‑event as our worst result after being cut from 11/1 into 9/1, and they duly justified strong support from customers by closing out the team event in New Orleans.
“Given how little support there was for the teams that were chasing the duo from Sheffield, we were only a couple of swings away from a very different story and a near six‑figure positive for the book instead!”
