- Following a 1-0 defeat in the FA Cup final on Saturday, Chelsea have finally agreed their new manager with former Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso set to take the reigns for next season, something for the Blues to get excited about.
- However, Chelsea need to focus on the here and now, they’ve got two games remaining to try and get themselves into the top eight to secure some sort of European football for next season, but with just two wins from their last twelve games across all competitions (D1, L9), it doesn’t look great.
- The good news for Chelsea is the fact they haven’t lost a final home game of the season in the last twenty-three seasons (W16, D7), whilst they’ve won each of the last five meetings with Spurs, punters can back Chelsea at EVS to win this one with William Hill.
——————————– - Despite not playing over the weekend, Tottenham are almost safe following West Ham’s defeat at Newcastle on Sunday evening, given their superior goal-difference, Spurs need just a point to all but confirm safety, whilst three points would make sure of Premier League safety.
- It’s fair to say the ball is now firmly in Tottenham’s court but winning here have proven difficult over the years, they’ve won just one of their last thirty-five (35!) away games in the league at Stamford Bridge, that win came back in 2018.
- Spurs would love to confirm their safety here at Stamford Bridge, a third successive away victory would see three in a row for the first time since November 2020, William Hill have Roberto De Zerbi’s side at 5/2 to win here.
